Not sure if this post should go in Arcade/Games Chat section or here. But I just decided to post in here.

    Okay,

So I downloaded Super Mario All Stars PAL [scrubbed version]. Burnt it on a dvd+RW [wii loads any types of disc] and it's telling me to do a system update. Do I do this or not? I'm scared that if I do it, the wii will no longer work.

Like a few days ago, I did a system update on my DSi and my r4 card got blocked. :(

But however, I have done a system update [before the DS incident] when I downloaded and burnt wii party game and that worked plus the other games I got.

Googled up and think need to download this wii scrubber thing? Are my correct and which version?
But what if i DID do the system update, what will happen?

Anyways, my wii version is 4.3E and plays PAL version.

well if it is version 4.3e then there is no need to update as that is the latest update. and no u should never update the wii with a game disc as it will prob remove the softmod. the reason why it was fine before was because it is only the newer updates which have included software to remove ur soft mod.

    Thanks for the replies.

I didn't do the system update after but I just used that wii scruber thing and it worked fine on the wii.

Is WiiBrickBlocker same as wii scrubber? If not what's the difference and which one is better?

I have NO clue what the hell you're talking about buddy .. I owned a Wii system but I am not really a gamer. I want to get Mario but damn .. so expensive .. if I can burn it from someone else and play ..not bad idea.

well ISO is the whole dvd.

example - dvdrip = just the film without the menu, extra etc
iso = ripped from the dvd including menu etc.

What I do is I type in a wii game on google
    example: Wheel of Fortune PAL

Click on taht link - then there should be links to download that game. [might have to register to see the links].

Once finished use imgburn to burn that iso onto dvd.

    PAL = UK

  11. softmod is running an exploit to allow for the wii to run homebrew, similar to a jailbreak with iphone.

whereas modchip is installing a modchip inside the wii to allow for it to run backups.

You can't just burn the game without the wii being modded first.

It's not too complicated, but certainly not as easy as susy making it out to be.

lol, well I didn't really do anything to my wii!
I guess it was already built in as as a softmod then when my bro got it.
just downloaded a game and see if it worked and it did. :) As my bro buys coppies game, so thought my wii can play copy games then.
