Who knows. You have to do the research yourself. No one is going to buy and try every box to check that it does not freeze and is the cheapest for you.

Yes most people spend their time, do the research, read the reviews from people who have used them and then decide on which to purchase.

I can only tell you that after doing some digging I bought the AC Ryan because of its features, plays everything I throw at and the firmware is upgradeable. It is not the cheapest but it have the best features.

Research, read and research is the answer.

Well, if you play all types of format videos, then the best bet is to get a ASUS O!Play, it plays every format i have thrown at it. .mkv, .rmvb, .ts, and various others, these 3 seemingly the hardest for me to find in a media player. But i have to note that the remotes response time is pretty slow, when compared to the WD media players. But it comes with usb and esata ports for external harddrives so it's wonderful.

I use an Archos 70 to watch RMVB. Works a treat and use it on the move.

I would definitely recommend Patriot Box Office over O!Play or WDTV. Have had PBO and WDTV -- the WDTV is stuttery and slow, while PBO plays everything I throw at it (including HD 1080p content!) flawlessly. Also supports RMVB and can be had for around 40$ after rebates.
