Benchmarks: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-2600K+%40+3.40GHz Almost unbelievably high performance. Better than the X58 by 15%+ in every test. Also it can apparently be overclocked to near 5 ghz on the stock air cooler. Makes me glad I didn't buy an i7-950, I'd be kicking myself hard right now.
yah, but the X58 has a version II as well...they are comparing SB to X58 version I and my prices beat their's
Fixed The quote anyways Anyway, back on topic. I like what I'm seeing for LGA 1155, especially the mobile ones. But considering how I made a new computer during the summer, I'm going to at least hold off till LGA-2011.
i7-1156 are slower...with support of dual channel...these are meant for gamers thou...triple channel beats dual channels the bug is fixed...no need to wait as Apple is on full force on it already on its product line...apple stuff are now powered by intel...LOL
i just overclocked my i7 920 d0 to 4.5 ghz but i'll be keeping it at 4.0... ya know how it compares to the latest sandy bridge as in performance? like would there be a big difference when its overclocked at 4.0 vs a regular sandy bridge at stock speeds?
I haven't seen many comparisons between SB and the bloomfield processors. Mainly because SB is a refresh of lynnfield. For encoding video and whatnot I think your 920 is still better because of the triple channel memory.
