They discovered that Chong Lou, a warrior from the dark realm, had taken the Dark Sword from the Tower thereby releasing evils into the world. Jing Tian paired up with Chang Qing, a fellow from Shushan, to battle evil. As it turned out, Jing Tian's prior reincarnation was a celestial warrior named Fei Lian, and Chang Qing was his sword spirit. With Chang Qing was his lover, Zhi Xuan. The group needed to gather up five spirit balls to seal the Tower and restore peace to the world. Through their perilous search, they accomplished the task. But, Chang Qing and Zi Xuan had let go of their love for the greater good. As for Jing Tian, he gave up his celestial identity to be with Xue Jian. To him, nothing was better than having fun and growing old with the one he loved.
