I got SKy broadband with the standard Sagem router, its ok for noobs and parents etc, does its job.

I got some friends who want me to share my wifi with them and ill get paid ofc but anyway i told them i aint doing it unless i got QoS. the Sagem router has no QoS and i just want my own router tbh.

So any recommendations, not looking to spend over £50 ($80). must have QoS and as much features as possible (for the price). also must be ADSL.

    thanks

Looks really good, but check this out. It costs $79, and over here on Amazon it costs £75 excluding delivery. for some odd reason i have to pay almost $123.

looks good, but im running ADSL not Cable, BUT i would rather get a cable router and bridge my current sagem router so i could put out wifi with QoS with the linksys and keep my pc and xbox wired through the sagem, when i move in future one requirement is that it has access to cable.

But thats what happens when you live in the town centre >.<

@ £115 though my friends are gona have to wait a while till i save up and buy one.

Don't spend so much on a router, you won't realize any real world differences for paying an extra hundred dollars.

  5. ^ If you are wired than the difference is nothing -_-; but through wireless N speeds... there is definitely a noticeable difference

I just want to say that I tried LInksys N router before and after an hour or so, it got REAL hot. Warm was ok but it was HOT; not good to put it on table or something.

  7. ^ where the hell did you keep it? in an enclosed space? Mine gets warm but that is normal...

You have a good point, yeah i run wired whenever possible, wireless is for 3Ds, psp etc, maybe a laptop and phone, pretty sure they will be using wireless G too.

What i do want though is a linksys, my old router is the WRT54GS, but when i left my parents i had to leave it for the existing wireless network that is there. shame they dont sell that router now, i would buy that in a heartbeat even though its pretty old.

on the desk .. where else? that was how i felt the heat (sat the desk to do my work) and immediately removed it. didn't wanna wait for the smoke.

now .. that's not to say that all Linksys products are bad. just share my experience and something to look out for. perhaps the one i got was an unlucky few.

Get a model compatible with Tomato or DD-WRT. It'll turn any old model into a super router.
