she acts too much like ah wong lol asheh should put her own touch on the char..not sure how else to play a "low b" char
^ yeshhh thas whut i was thinking when i was watching the 1st epi..... but still think shes great...!!!!! esp. at the end of the epi when she got lost....so QQ made me tear up already =]
I recon Roger does a better job as to me it seems like Charmaine is acting like Roger rather than Charmaine being the character. She got boob squashed twice by Raymond in the first ep lol.
Her acting is annoying me so far. She's trying to hard. You know that pain that you get when you watch someone struggling to be good at something. Yeah. That.
I prefer Roger/Ah Wong. It's disappointing that the writers/Charmaine didn't at least try to develop a distinct personality for 花麗珠. People with "intellectual disabilities" do not all act like Ah Wong and they certainly don't have the same haircut (the bowl cut). Judging from the first episode, Charmaine's performance is not convincing at all. I'd rather watch "Life Made Simple" again.
You're right. Its the script writers fault! Charmaine didn't write the script.. her job is to act out the script. But of course she can add her touches here and there
ah sheh seems to be to pretty for the role...she looks like a pretty girl with a bad haircut...roger did look like it lol ah fa is more smarter than ah wong ...she has a job...ah wong followed his mom around -lol

She does ok job in this but it's just not convincing enough, in fact I always found roger was the same, so it really doesn't matter.
There are a few other actors that has played as a yuek ji, dunno if you guys remember but here's a few ... hong bong [Power Chan] in 女拳 siu yue/yue jai [Pierre Ngo] in Rippling Blossom yan yan [Myolie Wu] in Golden Faith 流金歲月 ah keung [鍾漢良 - Wallace Chung] in Journey Of Love 親恩情未了 jung sun 方進新 [劉松仁 Damien Lau] in Greed of Man 大時代 Anthony 永健 [Wayne Lai] in File of Justice IV 壹号皇庭 Also in films too.. fei mau [Kent] in 低一點的天空 Happy Go Lucky there's probably a few more.. but those are from top of my head. But for me.. I think it's gotta be ah keung and maybe fei mau!! Buy playing as a yuek ji character is really hard!! But comparing ah wong and fa ka jer... then uhhh.. both the same lor.. BUT just started.. so give it a few more eps first.
those were more secondary chars..but good memory! i remember myolies lol that was probably her best performance of her career and she wasnt even famous then -lol
^ myolies role in golden faith was made her famous wasnt it..??.. well thas the one i most remember her from...along with power chan who played her bf...!...^^
