With Miami's recent success combining 3 stars on a single team and likely to advance to the finals where they have a legitimate chance to win it all. Do you think more players are going to team up with each other? Boston has already done it and won in their first year. Given they were traded to the Celtics, unlike the Heat where Bosh, Wade and James talked it over before signing together. However it's still the same thing. Both these 2 teams have collected 3 stars and both have or will win a NBA championship. We've already seen some stars gather together after the Heat in Carmelo and Amare. Rumors about Chris Paul joining New York as well. Could we be witnessing a new era in the NBA? Where superstars get all buddy-buddy and group up together to win, cause they can't do it on their own? Thoughts and opinions on the current situation?
If Raptors dont get any stars.. guess we wont be a champion for another 10 years. Unless we develope our own.. but its unlikely to have a Superstar that can lead us to the finals
I think it's great that these super teams are coming together. When ever I play NBA on the PS3 i always like to have the best players on my team. So to see it in real life it's great. The merging of super stars have been happening in football, so I don't see a problem with it in the NBA.
Trade Amare away? lol The problem I have is that there are only so many stars to go around in the NBA. Let's face it, there are only a handful of superstars in the NBA. Most of the 'All stars' are 2nd-3rd men on a title winning team. Just seems like the NBA would get a lot less competitive if a couple of superteams tried to form :\. And I'm more on the old school with MJ, and Barkley who said you have to do it yourself (at least when you are young) and not wuss out.
^I'm more of the old school guys too! And I'm really against this idea because sports isn't about who can throw more money to "buy" the championship. Its about working hard to improve your skills to become a star, and as a person to become a leader and bring a team to win titles. If what Miami's done were to continue and perhaps become a trend, there will just be more and more LeBron's in the league - players bailing out on not only his team but himself at a young age to team up to TRY and get a title. This teaming up thing really makes the competitiveness of the game go down and less interesting...
