For tshirts and jackets: Bright colors (white) -I hand wash them with washing powder then get soap to wash the edges and to finish it off I use a special liquid to remove final 'hard to remove' stains. It was only recently I started using this liquid as it seems to be much easier to remove stains. I then throw it into the washing machine. Dark colours (black) -Hand wash them with washing powder and get soap to wash edges, that's it really. Then throw it into the washing machine. For Jeans -I hand wash them with washing powder, erm I won't get into too much info as it's rather common sense like flip it inside out as to prevent the colour from fading. After I throw it into the washing machine. Simple. Basically I hand wash all of my designer clothes before throwing it into the washing machine.
^ lol I never follow the instructions and I don't think it teaches you how to wash does it, it only warns you what not to do, Ie: wash it at X degrees. Hmm, you made this question up but what about you kdotc? How do YOU do it?
avoid washing machine when i can, avoid using dryer hand wash, preferably cold water dry cleaning is an option - but it still damages it to a degree (depends how often u wash it?) can be quite costly too... then comes the ironing bit, iron it wrong and u kill it too
i just tried washing it today with liquid detergent in a bucket and warm water as stated in the label. i was scrubbing it for a few min then let it sink in the water so i can finish my baseball game. I go back down and hear the washing machine, i asked my mom if my shirt was in the washing machine and she said yes. I ran quickly down to turn off the machine but it was already releasing water, so i think it was washing in the cold water cycle. I freaked out took my shirt out and threw it down and got pissed and now im in my room lol...So pissed off right now, if it was a regular shirt i wouldn't care but it wasn't. I was trying to try washing it for the first time myself but it didn't work. so mad still..music is calming me down I don't wear designers all the time so im not at dry cleaners regularly
Oh I forgot to mention, I throw my clothes in the bath tub and add washing powder, then turn the hot water tap and let it soak for a good 20min then handwash. Can anyone explain how dry cleaning, washing machine.etc damage your clothes? I'm too lazy to do research lol at this time anyway. ------ quick research on warm/hot VS cold water to wash clothes Warm water makes soap more effective in dissolving dirt and certain stains (sugar based), however it will help to set certain stains so that they can become permanent. It allows some materials to relax for less wear or potential to tear during agitation. Cold water doesn't set stains, prevents bright or dark colors from fading as easily, prevents wools and other natural fibers from shrinking, and saves energy for a more green approach to the laundry.
ermmm...im lazy and just put it in the washing machine... well i guess it depends how muchy the top/trousers cost.... if i <3 it so muchy....id prolly take it to the dry cleaners....^^ think about it ..if ya can afford designer gear....youd prolly just ask your bun bun to wash it for you....or just take it to dry cleaners...pwhaha...-tongue2
First one to vote xD So can't anyone explain why it's bad, I understand the process but don't get it wor =(
maybe it shrinks? or damages the material? i unno but im not risking it to try...if you really want to know then try it and tell me
the spin cycle stretches it, and sometimes if u have mini rips or cuts, it amplifies that too when you hand wash, u can control how much effort and concentrate on areas that u need to, whereas the machine is just designed to do it everywhere
lol... No thanks lol, I let someone else to experiment it. Ah that's interesting to know =) Hmm that's becoming a habit now =/
lol apparently Kdotcs uneducated ass can't read the tag on the clothes that states whether it needs to be washed on dry cleaned..
i usually wash it according to the directions written on the tag. if anythign as the clothes are designer it should use better material and therefore following the tag should be fine.
