^ I have suggested this section for travel a couple of days ago and they are discussing it to see whether it should be put up and what not and it looks like it is likely to be up.

As for Beijing topic, I haven't a clue as I never been there :p

Thanks for the reply and info provided. It was just strange that there was no forum on travel on PA since travelling is huge these days.

Not just that, but many of the forum viewers are from a variety of places around the world, and can give incredible insight into locations that aren't readily available on regular travel websites.

I'll give a +1 vote for travel forums too.

As for BJ, I went there last or 2 years ago during Winter, where blizzards had to ground my flight for 18 hours.

Dont remember all of them but the main attractions I went to were
    Great Wall
    Olympic Place
    Forbidden City
    Tiananmen Square
    Beihai Park

Cant remember much about the food, but it was fairly good, street food was fantastic.

Heres a photo I can post, the insect thing looks like kakuna from pokemon

i wanted to go to simatai... but the driver said no (it'd take him an extra few hours to drive there LOL)
it's better because its not "redeveloped" as much and its more "original"
and of course, less people means u can get a foto on the wall by yourself! hehehe
    =)

If it's your first time to HK, then you should go to the Peak and Big Buddha statue in Lantau Island at least once. The peak has great views of HK in daytime or night and you will get beautiful pictures. As for the Big Buddha, after you go there once you probably will never go back cause theres really nothing much to do there. There are a lot of places to visit in HK depending on what you like. Cheap shopping is done in Mongkok area, expensive shopping is done in TsimShaTsui and Central. Fresh seafood can be eaten at Lamma Island and theres a pretty nice hiking trail from Sok Kwu Wan(fresh seafood side) to Yung Shue Wan (tiny shops and bike rental). There's also a light show you can see every night at 8PM on Avenue of Stars (TsimShaTsui).

I'm also going back to HK! But it's not my first time. lol.
I might see Twins live! haha. 17th August for their 10th anniversary concert!

I'm going to check out the big buddha again! haha, but this time with the cable car - cos last time when I went - it was broken! :(

Also going to check out aveneu of stars too - havent been there before.

Any other good places to visit? not like shopping or food.. but places to see.
Been: peak, madam tussuards, ocean park, disneyland, wetland park .. i think that's about it.

Also anyone know a good site to get directions!! since I live in tai po and I don't really know how to get to to avenue of star and plus other location.

    Ah...I love HK.

The 2 above covers most, but I'll just recap/add my own.

Theme Parks: Disneyland, Ocean Park - Both are fantastic to go.

Food: Pretty much EVERYWHERE, HK is famous for its diversity of food aka Food Heaven. But probably more choices in Wan Chai/Causeway Bay (HK Island), Tsim Sa Tsui/Mongkok (Kowloon), Tsuen Wan/Shatin (NT)

Sightseeing: Victoria Peak is a must, over looks the harbour, Big Budda + Cable Car and Ma Wan Park + Noah's Ark, Tsim Sa Tsui Avenue of Stars

Shopping: Mongkok for cheap and latest trend items, for electronics go Shum Shui Po or Wanchai, branded clothing go Times Square or Elements, just general massive shopping centres you can also try Tung Chung Citygate, Tsuen Wan City Walk/Discovery Plaza, Mongkok Langham Place, Mongkok Olympia City, Shatin New Town Plaza, Tsim Sa Tusi New World Centre

@ SD - Tai Po to Tsim Sa Tsui Ave of Stars - just take MTR east line, goes from point2point around 8 or 9 stops, takes like 30mins
If you need anymore place direction just post here.
