Hopefully this thread will only be needed for the year 2011. Let's all cross our fingers for as many games as we can get next season if any at all. What a great way to end the season with a possible drought of NBA games to come. The finals were as exciting as anyone could have hoped for. As were the other playoff rounds. We had Chris Paul giving everyone a big "F u" to everyone who claimed Derrick Rose was the best PG. A small appearance by the old Brandon Roy that help staged an epic comeback against Dallas. A unlikely upset with the Spurs/Griz. A epic 7 game series with a triple overtime in the mix against Griz/Thunder. Two amazingly competitive conference finals that ended in 5 games each, but each game was as thrilling as any other playoff game. Finally we saw one of the best finals EVER. One of the best finals comebacks in the history of the NBA (game 2). I don't know about you guys, but these playoffs were one of the better ones in recent memory. Even though the Suns nor the Raps made it to the post season. As a NBA fan I thoroughly enjoyed watching every single team compete to the best of their ability. Now... How about that draft? Aside from Irving you're going to be looking for role players. Even Irving isn't as a sure fire thing as people make him out to be IMO. I'd like to see Knight drop to the Raps, which will be dependent on Utah (unless David Khan acts like, well you know, David Khan). Thoughts?
not really epic, really disapointing Miami team especially Lebron finally Kidd got a ring, now he can retire i dont know about the draft players because i dont watch college basketball so im waiting for the summer camp if there is one
i thought it was an epic playoffs. even without the lakers, i still found a reason to watch. the mavericks deserve every bit of the championship and the scary thing is they did it without an arguable all-star in caron butler. as far as the upcoming draft, i don't see knight dropping to the raps. while i strongly believe that knight will be selected before walker, i also strongly believe walker will end up being the better player. here's to kemba becoming a raptor (even though i'll miss calderon and his great fantasy numbers). now for the most important thing, how will the lakers respond this offseason? i'm hoping they luck out and manage to snag a manu ginobili this year, but with the weak, weak draft class i give this a 0.1% chance of happening. i really like the current group of guys as is and i am with kobe 100% when he says that this group can get it done. it would just be nice to find a young, slashing, and knockdown PG. no significant trades please mitch!
Raptors name Mavs assistant Casey as new coach http://www.nba.com/2011/news/06/21/raptors-casey.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2 he look mean, defense first coach...has relationship with Derozan already.
Spurs Offering Parker In Attempt To Acquire Lottery Pick Jun 21, 2011 9:26 PM EDT The San Antonio Spurs are engaged in discussions about trading point guard Tony Parker to secure a high pick in Thursday’s draft, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Spurs have talked to teams in the lottery, including the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, who hold the fifth and seventh picks, respectively. The Kings are determined to get a frontline point guard, and have also talked with the Denver Nuggets about Raymond Felton. It’s unclear who the Spurs would prefer to take if they acquired a high lottery pick. Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...Attempt_To_Acquire_Lottery_Pick#ixzz1Q2meldo8
Draft tonight! Heard Utah is thinking about Kanter now! Hopefully they stick to that so Knight falls to Raps. He would be great for the new defensive focus Toronto is trying to create for the team. Now they just need to trade one of Bargs or Calderon. I'd be ok with keeping one of them, but not both.
Jonas Valanciunas had a good game against the Americans at the World's U19 Tourny....only exhibition though tourny starts in a few days. 23 points and 11 rebounds, along with two blocks and a steal. http://www.lfpress.com/sports/basketball/2011/06/28/18347776.html
