Yeah, but once you have kids, if you live in a high rise, you'll learn to demand them from your landlord like everyone else. You be surprised at how much your "taste" can immediately change to suit or accommodate the situation. Window guard programs have been proven to save children's lives. In New York City, after two years of program mandate, there was a 35% reduction in fall related fatalities (Source: Link). Oh, and BTW, it was recently reported on ChinaSmack that the woman who broke her arm while courageously attempting to catch the falling child was awarded 200,000 Yuans by her bosses from the Alibaba export company.
I think it's roughly 31K at today's exchange rates. When it comes to advertising, it is indeed a drop in the bucket. Alibaba also promised to keep her job secure while she is expected to recuperate over the course of six months. I think the boss of that company is being very smart. Imagine if it would have been the flip side, the company had fired her for taking excessive sick time off; Alibaba would have been publicly raked over the coals. Instead, the boss shrewdly came off smelling like roses for minimal expense. Kudos to a Chinese boss with generosity AND marketing savvy.
wow.... a little selflessness goes a long way.... it was truly selfless as she was not expecting anything in return.
probably when it dies down, the company will then sack her LOL then again, whats "reported" may not actually be whats happening
nah it will happen cause she is in every position to say they lied and ruin the reputation of said company
Well, for a company that is arguably said to be the Amazon.com of China (with some analysts pegging it at a net worth greater than Google), it can literally pay her this amount, once a month for the rest of her life and STILL consider it to be CHUMP CHANGE. So, with that in mind, does anyone really think that it would risk negative publicity by surreptitiously sacking her once the hoopla dies down? LOL... She would have a better chance hitting the lottery before that would ever happen.
