^^^Nope, don't really want the iPhone 4S. If I did, I would have returned my Samsung Galaxy S II already and pre-ordered -whistle
:] You're definitely entitled to your opinion. But sometimes specs isn't everything. It's how it's all packaged together and usability that matters a lot. Marketing too of course. The phone really isn't that bad, the lines and numbers has to mean something... The kool-aid in the back is always helpful.
I'm not denying it. Apple's packaging and marketing strategy is top class. In a business perspective I truly admire what Apple has done, and have nothing but respect for it in that sense. I also do really like the lines on the phone, in fact the shape of the iphone 4 and 4s is the optimal shape I would look for in a phone. Though customers are entitled to their own choice as you said, what aggravates me is the fact that they claim Apple as being the most advanced piece of technology, without being educated about other alternatives. IF they had been educated about the alternatives, and still went for the iphone, I am happy. But the problem is that they claim the iphone is the best without knowing what Android and Windows Phone 7/8 offer. Once I show them what Android can do, they go "OOOOOHHH I thought only the iphone could do it". What aggravates me is the brainwashed uneducated customers. If you are aware of alternatives and still buy Apple products, I'm very cool with that. But customers who talk shit without knowing the alternatives is what pisses me off. As for Siri, Siri is fine. It's regarding the following quote: The work is done by Wolfram-Alpha. Not Apple. Apple packaged it. People think Apple made Wolfram-Alpha. Apple has done ZERO technological innovation. All their innovations are in the business, packaging/design and marketing sense. No technological innovation what so ever. Again the average Apple fanboy/fangirl don't know that, and that's what's irritating.
I do agree on all your points. It is definitely irritating to see people buy phones only because of the brand and because it's cool. But as someone whose sold an unimaginable amount of iPhones, I have no problem recommending other phones to customers. Like today while I was working at Oranges someone wanted the iPhone. Wanted unlimited data with tethering. Wanted it unlocked without paying the full price. I told him to go buy an android down the street. At the end, it's not Apple's fault for brainwashed customers. It's the consumer's fault for not doing research online on their own. If they walk into an Apple Store, a Apple employee won't be trained on Android devices and won't teach them all the different phone selections. They will match certain benefits of the iPhone to the customer's needs and that is it. There is honestly no brainwashing and no kool-aid. I can promise you that. It's the blogs and fan boys online that makes uneducated claims. At the same time, you can't expect Apple to give away all the details of their products. They're not going to say "Retina display, made possible by Samsung's LED technology." or "A5 dual core processor, inspired by snap dragon dual core processors" or "iOS 5 notifications, inspired and designed by the same guy who did the notification app for the jailbreak community" It's up to consumers to find these facts themselves and make educated purchases and claims. I honestly played with the Samsung Galaxy S II. It's a FANTASTIC phone. Brilliant screen. BLAZING fast. And it's honestly a very very good phone. But there's something about Apple's all in one packaging that makes it a bit better for me. iCloud, formerly known as MobileMe is native to the iOS platform and to the Macs. It's seamless integration of my contacts, calendar and email as a native app is almost unrivaled. Google can do this for me on Android, but it's not native on a PC. If Google Sync is working on my Galaxy phone and tablet but not on my HP laptop, whose gonna figure this out for me? Google? If iCloud is working on the iPad and iPhone, but not on my Mac, what are my resources? The Apple Store is pretty helpful... Some people have no problem servicing their own products but some people prefer the full on support. The thing that gets me mad are the people who claim Android is BETTER then iOS. I've played this game before and I've gotten suckered into claiming iOS is better then Android. But in the back of my mind, I know that both OSes have their plus and minuses and not one is really better then the other. There's too many variables to calculate that. The below average Android fanboy/fangirl doesn't know that. (See how I gave you guys more credit there? ;] )
