At some stage the players are going to give in. The players are highly paid employees with extravagant life styles. At some point they are going to realise if they want the life style they are going to have to play ball.
if the player's don't accept the current proposed deal of 51/49 or 50/50, i'm all for the owners playing hardball and remaining adamant on their position and giving the players no more than 47/53. if a lost season is what it will take to knock some sense into the players, then a lost season is what it will unfortunately have to be.
Screw the owners. They pay players who don't deserve money and complain about losing money later. The owners never wanted to play ball, and they never cared about the league. And the players did not plan this through ahead of time to get a good deal. Screw both sides. Season is done.
As long as I have my NFL, I don't give a crap about the NBA, but both sides aren't even giving an inch, if they actually want to work this BS out, they should serious work out a deal. I'm on the owners side on this one.. I hadn't been following the NBA news, so a LOCKOUT is a sure thing? Time to check it out...
The owners pushed the players into a corner and refused to even give an inch in negotiations. They were planning to scrap the season at the very start and push the players as far as they could go. Yes both sides are greedy, and yes both sides should have planned better, but the owners have been anything but cooperative in anyway. If I HAD to choose a side I would pick the players. Some owners have made the worst decisions for their ball club and yet they complain about losing money.
let me get to a few games before i leave dammit >.< i bought a knicks jersey, so better get to make most of it!
i agree with you that the players should not be the ones being punished for bad business decisions by owners, but at the same time, the players just don't know how lucky they are. they make more in one contract than most people will see in a lifetime, and they're still pushing for more? we will all find out the fate of the season on wednesday.
The same can be said for owners. Both sides don't need the extra money, but I just hate how the owners aren't even attempting to work through the negotiations and come up with a final agreement.
for the teams that are losing money, i'd say the owners need that 1% more than the players. the players have it made; they get paid for playing a game. for the owners, the game (albeit a very profitable industry) is an investment that does not always equate to a return on profit. on top of that, they are responsible for accommodating the players and have to pay for food, flights, hotels, etc. honestly, i'd do the same if i were the owners and keep with a hardliner position.
no big deal, just decertification and a lost nba season. this makes it so much harder for kobe to get his 6th ring. -cry2
Shouldn't have waited so long to decertified. Should have done this a while ago instead of wasting time. Both sides are to blame, but I still blame the owners for trying to push the players into the corner and not attempting to work out a deal at all.
this season is done, no agreements plus its super late so just cancel the whole season hahha go knicks.
Hate this normally my morning scedule will be seeing the results of the games that are played. But that is not the case anymore.... Damn Lock out...
