So like Jeff, I've been looking to get a smart phone. My contract won't be up for a while still, but I want to know about the possible phones out on the market.

I'm with Fido, so basically the phones mentioned above are the only ones available. They have LG Optimus 2x, but I hate LG.

I might even wait out for the Iphone 5 if it comes out by the time my contract ends.

You can never keep up with phone releases :p Depending on your contract, iPhone 5 most likely will release around September or October of 2012 at this rate. Android phones will keep releasing new products with newer spec than the iPhone 4S.

If your contract doesnt expire for a while, I think wait and see what other options are there, new phones come out weekly/monthly so theres bound to be much more choices when your contract does expire

That's true. But it's Fido... the phones don't change that often...

Yeah, I'm the type of person to plan ahead haha. Hmm well I guess I could wait it out for the Iphone 5.

will the iPhone 5 aka 6th gen be worth the wait? :shifty:

  7. Ew.. iphone :puke:

Which Nexus is it? There have been three Google Nexii: Nexus One, Nexus S and upcoming Galaxy Nexus.

I can say right now that Galaxy Nexus will top any phone in the market right now, software wise. And despite my absolute disgust of the iphone, this is the truth anyways.

I don't even see a nexus phone on the fido site. iPhone might be the best bet from your current choices. But yea, just wait it out for a little longer for new phones to come out.

  9. damn is everyone damn one getting new phones these days? hahah there's like at least 3 pple on here trying to get new phone.. who else?

    I'm pretty sure it's a Nexus one.

Yeah, the Nexus is still available in my kiosk, but not on the site.

I'll probably just wait it out for maybe the Iphone. I'm not a fan of apple, but I've been tempted a few times to convert.

iPhone is the best option you have out of the listed devices. Unless you can buy a phone elsewhere and use it with Fido? I'm not sure what kind of network Fido has. You'll have to buy it full price without a contract though.

  14. so come back in a year and we can help you choose

  17. I personally feel samsung got no support for their phones.. they just keep coming out with them.. or is that just me?

^Hard to say, in the US, we can blame it on the carrier since it has to be approved by carriers before consumers are allowed to update their phone whereas unlocked versions usually get more support.

  19. Fight the temptation. You'll be glad you did. I know a few people who converted to Android and are extremely happy, and those who regret buying an iphone.

Wait for a good Android to come out for Android. Trust lol

So S2 over the iphone4s is a smart decision?

Before Telus only had the S1.. but now since S2 is available.. im going for that.
