TVB can't win with you people. Everyone says the results are rigged when it does not meet their expectations. I think with Kevin and Myolie sweeping up the awards, it will offend a lot of the other artists. Would TVB risk losing other talents just to keep Kevin and Myolie? Michael Tse and Fala Chen are pretty hot commodity themselves, but if Michael and Fala were awarded the Favorite Male/Female, people would then say it was rigged because it was given as a consolation award/they wanted someone else to win/etc. Typically, TVB awards the second place actor/actress with the Fave Char. just to appease everyone, but they didn't simply because that's how good Kevin and Myolie were. If Kevin and Myolie were awarded just to keep them with TVB, don't you think their Best Actor/Actress win was enough to do the job?
yes but your not getting the picture, micheal Tse and Fala Chen's contracts are not up yet, so they don't really need to award them, TVB wants to keep Myolie and Kevin cause there contracts are up so what would you do? if you were TVB and was going to lose 2 of your top actors/actresses that were heading for 10 times the money in china, would you award the 2 that might leave but if award them they said they'd stay or give the award to people who deserve it but who are not leaving. it's a double edge sword for TVB, sure it could hurt them but they could do the same later down the line for the ones that deserved it then. The award show is just business.
Who deserves an award and who doesn't are all subjective. Honestly, I think Kevin and Myolie deserved the Best Actor/Actress awards (and they are also MY personal choice for Favorite male/female character), but that's just my opinion and has nothing to do with the debate. But that's why there will always be controversy surrounding any awards event because people have their favorites and who they think should win. Anyway, you are missing my point. You would think with all the talent poaching going on, TVB would try to please as many artists as they can. Even though Fala's and Michael's contracts are not up yet, they could decide to leave after the fact because they felt snubbed by the lack of awards. Look at Steven Ma -- he demanded to be released early from his contract due to mistreatment by TVB. TVB had 4 major awards to give out: Best Actor, Best Actress, My Favorite Female Character, and My Favorite Male Character. If it was already decided that Myolie and Kevin would win two of those categories (let's say in this case, to get them to re-sign the contract with TVB), why not please two other artists by giving them the other two awards? That way, the 4 (Myolie/Kevin/____/_____) separate artists and their fans would be happy rather than just 2 parties. I think Kevin and Myolie would be more than pleased to receive just one award each (and would have extended their contract, if that were the case). They did not expect to win in both categories at all and had basically admitted defeat in the "Best" categories, as shown in their reaction/speech for My Favorite. TVB cannot afford to offend anybody right now. So why did Myolie and Kevin sweep the awards? MAYBE the majority of the panel/executives/fans felt like they....deserved it?

yes but by giving them all the awards they could get pretty much garantees TVB they would re-sign again. and have you actually read the forums? everyone was saying Micheal Tse should have won for Laughing Sir in live of Omission. and alot of forums in Hong kong say the same thing fans wanted Micheal Tse to win. It's pretty well known in HK, where my wife is from that those shows are rigged. they don't really care what the people think it's business as usual for them. you say Steven Ma's wants out? you know what? Everyone wants out....why? more money in China. everyone has asked to get out of there contract with TVB pretty much and you know what TVB said to them, no fucking way you're staying until your contract is up! and they can't do nothing about it or they would be paying more money back to TVB then they earned working for TVB, this is how the industry works. called breach of contract. but TVB see's that everyone wants out, they are giving higher paid contracts and as well as you can work in china contract but in HK you only work for TVB contract. My wife who's one to party in HK alot for 8 years constantly saw Kevin at bars and night clubs and he hit on guys or leave with a new guy every week from the clubs. It's not a secret, but it's news no one talks about. just like TVB and everyone contracts.

The thing is, there is NO WAY to satisfy everyone. If Michael Tse got the award then netizens will still complain why Kevin or Wayne or Bosco didn't win the award. I think people just like talking a lot of shit and complaining in general, no matter who wins or who deserves the awards. Sadly, we will never see an award show where everyone is happy including actors and fans and netizens.
To be honest, i feel happy for Jin. With that being said, I myself was surprised by this result too b/c i thought he doesn't deserve it this year.

You cannot satisfy everyone, thats why you try to satisfy the majority. And Kevin Cheng is not majority. Kevin Cheng+Laughing is majority.
