Of course that came into play, but they couldn't just let Jordan walk. Their front line would have been depleted and Jordan is a young and athletic player. Yes 40 mill for him is steep, but the signing itself was not a terrible idea.

no they wouldn't... they still have Kaman... and there's still tons of serviceable big men out there... Chuck Hayes for example...

Jordan is a more valuable asset to maintain than Kamen IMO. And I was under the impression Hayes was taken at that time.

oh my bad... Hayes signed yesterday... completely missed that... wow... anyways... Kaman is the better all round center when he's healthy... and while I agree that Jordan is more valuable, I would start Kaman over Jordan on every other team... the dynamic Griffin and Jordan have is the key to the resigning, there's no way around it...

Chances are better, but I dunno if it puts them over the hump... cuz the heat have Battier rofl... so you have dwade on rose, battier on rip, lbj on deng and bosh on boozer... soooooooo it'll require boozer to actually put effort in haha

Lol if you have to depend on Boozer you've already lost the game -lol

Also this tweet just in https://twitter.com/#!/ESPNSteinLine/status/147103516077457408

Gordon + Kamen + Aminui + Minnie 1st round for Chris Paul

I don't like it. Too much to give up and now your 2 has become useless. Will this team make the playoffs? Sure, but I think they would've been better off staying with a Gordon/Griffin/Jordan core and building around that, compared taking a risk with Cp3 resigning. Before this trade they were set to make the playoffs and improve every year. After this trade they could become elite the year after (depending on other pieces acquired) or set the franchise back 2-3 years (if paul leaves).

smh clippers... they had all the leverage and still caved in. it should have been eric gordon OR the minny pick, never both. that said, a starting 5 of chris paul, chauncey billups, caron butler, blake griffin, and deandre jordan is scary. look for the clips to make it deep into the playoffs this year.

I agree. They must have been scared that Lakers would find a new deal.

lol even he he does he'll be the third stringer PG at best. Best chance would be to hope he gets time at the 2 as well. Doubt it though.
