Hi to all. For those who have the tvpad2, I just bought the tvpad 2 with the latest version 2.42, I use the application BeTV and Guangdong Integrated broadband, and I only be able to watch ATV channel. I couldnĀ“t get to work the TVB and other channels because always are buffering max 12kb/s then down to 0Kb/s until timeup. The same with the movies. Can someone tell me if I have to special configure the network? or need something. Please help. Thanks.

    Yea, you can share it.

Double click the video to go full screen.

    To Phantoman:
I found an Android player called MoboPLayer that should play RTSP protocols. The player has some good reviews. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

I would just like some confirmation from TVPad users that TVB Jade is still working before I buy one.
Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have tested that one in the past when I was trying to stream from SopCast and if I recall it didn't go so well. I have another idea now, I will try to stream the channels using the Windows Streaming Media Services and then rebroadcast them. That should result in a smoother playback for other clients.

Hi everyone. The missing tvb jabe is s o p://7 6.73.22.162:3918/2009.

    To hawai:
I am sure all HK TV channels in TVPad are from BETV. And the group behind it may disband at anytime just as TVB lodges a complaint about the copyright.
I agree with taxidriverhk as to your problem.

    To ccbiig:
Thanks for the link. It is works great!!!

As for TVPad and BETV, I am sure you are right about the group disbanding at anytime as soon as TVB starts suing them.
I remember paying for this service called 3TV which provided TVB. It eventually shut down also. As long as someone is broadcasting TVB, there is a high chance of being shut down.

I'll take your advice and hold off on buying the TVPad for now. With my luck, maybe TVB will get shut down on the TVPad right after I buy it

The "Best" option is always Slingbox. With this you can watch all Hong Kong channels at anytime and anywhere, and it will never get shut down.
But this is not an option for me since I don't have a home in Hong Kong.

I am pleased that everyone here are always updating new options. -rockon

    To hawai:
You can place it at your HK friend's home if you have one.

ccbig, you did a great job!
However, it will be pretty lag to play directly in Sopcast
It is recommended to play it through VLC with address http://localhost:8902 which is same as playing BETV.
    That will be much smoother...

Yes, but if you are not familiar with Wireshark then just use the SopCast links. I have updated the main post with a new attachment which contains the new link for TVB Jade SD (aka non-HD).

Thanks again ccbig. I have updated the main post with the correct SopCast links. I have also added the direct links for the WLTV Cantonese channels (at least the ones I found). These were: TVB Jade, TVB News, TVB Movies, TVB Food, NatGeo HK, Taoist TV.

Btw, I also found the following direct link for Guangzhou Broadcasting Network, but it does not stream properly for me (keeps buffering): m m s://l ive21.gztv.com/gztv_gz (obviously remove spaces).

Hi everybody! My first time here :)

I've been using BETV for months now which is excellent until the TVB channels got removed from it. Thanks to you guys I have found another way to view those channels again :)

Can BETV run on Linux? If it can, how? Thank you.

First of all, Happy New Year to all of you! May 2012 be a year full of high quality TVB streams :)

Actually, since yesterday the SopCast TVB streams have been bad :( The SopCast buffer takes a long time to fill up and then drops from time to time. Maybe too many people now ??? Anyone else having this problem since yesterday ?

@mummy2, I don't know about BETV, but SopCast does (see Google or SopCast site).

Sopcast crashes before the stream starts for me. Something to do with Microsoft Visual C++.

Same thing with me and i tried it on another PC. it shuts down sopcast whenever the channel is about to be fully loaded. Not SopCasts problem. Its the channel. There are channels that work fine.

I'm also experiencing Sopcast crashing. I install an older version (3.4.0) and everything is working fine.
