Where to buy unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2 (white). Thanks! People said amazon, but I'm beginning to realize that their business model masks the shady retailers. Which country would carry models that have the voltage and language for the USA? Would buying in S.Korea be reputable or restricted? Or would somewhere like Fortress in Hong Kong be real?
Here's a few.. Expansys-USA ($639.99) Amazon ($799.99 shipped and sold by Amazon) Newegg.com ($549.99) eBay.com via dailysteals (not too reputable, but will get the item.) ($579.99) eBay.com via never-msrp (that seller sold 200+ already) ($650.00) No matter what, you're not getting warranty from Samsung. All of them will have English but by default, it might be in Korean or Spanish or any other language.
I checked amazon, and they're having some issues w/ their products. Could you elaborate on the Samsung warranty thing? The only reason why I'm considering an unlocked phone is because I might be traveling to hong kong and asia going forward.
Warranty is not valid in the United States. The warranty is only valid from where the phone was originally from which could be somewhere in Asia, Europe, South America, etc. Buying the international version SGSII means you get no warranty if you live in the United States.
Hmm, what is your opinion on this? Pretty much, anyone in the USA that buys an unlock = no warranty? I've been looking at smart phones w/ international functionality. I just find it odd that the power is US plug?
^Just hope the phone has nothing wrong with it. Some phones do carry the international warranty but not too many. Just do whatever you want, buy whatever phone you want and hope you won't have to use the warranty.
^Only AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-i777 have battery issue with Android 2.3.6.... Original/International doesn't have any of this issue.
May I ask what shield would be good? i was googling and saw SGP brand? Can I just buy this from amazon or something? Thank you
