Install the newest version of the Sopcast program 3.4.8, it will fix the bug that causes the client to crash when playing H.264 channels.
I thought the more people watch the better the stream because it uses peer to peer? Pheonix HK is the wrong name on the modified BETV
Hi everyone, My dad recently came back from HK and brought back a black box that allowed him to stream live TV from HK. It's called the "Kaiboer K210i." The person that sold it to my dad sold it for $100 more than it actually was (which sucked) and he told my dad that he couldn't find any MMS links for him and to search it himself. So, I've been browsing this thread, trying some MMS links, but they don't seem to work on the K210i. If it's possible, could you help me find some MMS links (because the K210i only supports MMS, as far as I know) to the TVB channel such as TVB Jade or ATV, etc? Thanks, much appreciated.
Is there a way to get rid of the black bars on the side for the shows on sopcast? I thought some shows were in HD, so there shouldn't be black bars on the sides :(
Not necessarily, if you have bad peers which do not feed you with the data on time, then you are in trouble. Here is a nice article from some Dutch students about SopCast (see section D for the issue that I described): http://www.nas.ewi.tudelft.nl/people/Fernando/papers/sopcast.pdf . So my point was that you have so many people on it now that the good peers are kind of overloaded or linked to other peers (instead of linked to you). Try the WLTV direct links that I posted in the main post. I have updated the TVB link while I was busy at it. Just replace the rtsp:// part with mms:// (btw, I believe the mms protocol is kind of deprecated ... as-in retired ... so hopefully it does support the rtsp protocol internally).
Hi Phantoman: I am having a difficult time opening up all the "mms:" links on my Android device. I have a Samsung Android phone. I downloaded the BSPlayer lite, and try to open the WTLV links directly and through the playlist. Everytime I try to open the "mms:" links, the BSPlayer says "error in opening file mms://"............ Am I doing something wrong? Do I put the address as "mms" or "rtsp://"? I have been trying this for a few days now, and have no luck. Thanks for your help.
Hi Phantoman. Nevermind. I just figured it out. I read your post again, and realize that I have to add the "RTSP" url. It works perfectly. Watching TVB channels right now on my phone while riding the bus. Thank you for the info again :biggthumpup:

I am new to this forum, trying to find a way to stream tvb channels as BETV isn't working anymore=( I am a bit confused regarding the SOP and MMS links provided..it'll be great if someone can clarify this for me, thanks in advance! - i tried opening sop links with sopcast, but it crashes everytime --> is there another way to open the links? - i tried clicking on the MMS links which were opened with windows media player, but either a black screen shows (for the jade channel), or it is super laggy --> again, is there another way to open these links? I'm not sure if my approach is correct as I am still new to this whole concept@_@

@hawai, glad to hear you managed. Does it play smooth for you though ? If I play it through anything else than Windows Media Player, then the stream keeps hanging constantly. So I have not tried it anymore. Maybe I am too far away from the source (which seems to be located in the US). They use RTSP through TCP which is a pain. @deadsniper, see previous page for the whole discussion, but basically use BSPlayer Lite on your Android device in combination with the WLTV links that are available in the main post.

Oh, and in other news ... not that I want to cause mass panic, but 2 of the 42 Antivirus on Virus Total (http://www.virustotal.com) have detected something with the WLTV executable: CAT-QuickHeal ........ (Suspicious) - DNAScan TheHacker .............. Trojan/Dropper.Netbuser Then I decided to use VirScan.org and on top of TheHacket AntiVirus, the following also detected something: CP Secure .............. Troj.Dropper.W32.Netbuser Now make of it what you want, but I thought I'll share this just in case. I forgot to run it in a Sandbox initially, but I did afterwards and didn't notice any suspicious activity though.
nstreamplayer stream lists Hi guys Thanks for the stream lists? all working great on Sopcast. But i'am trying to get this to work on my Dreambox DM8000 via nstreamplayer but inputting RTSP and SOP streams dont work?? Any ideas? many thanks Sq
SOP links are not going to work, those are proprietary to SopCast. What you can try is to use the method that I described in the following posts: Using external player with SopCast Using external player with multiple SopCast instances The 2nd link refers to BETV, but the port numbers are similar for SopCast. Furthermore SopCast allows you to run multiple instances unlike BETV where I had to use Sandboxie to achieve that. May I also ask you to remove the SopCast links from the sat forum since they will be of no use to you or anyone on that forum ? If possible also remove or hide the WLTV ones. I was able to find your post on that forum using Google, so others can as well. We want to hide the links as much as possible outside of this thread so that the powers that may be do not close all the channels down too soon. EDIT: Just saw on a Dutch forum that for streams that did not work directly with nstreamplayer, a guy was using VLC player to restream them in a format that was accepted by the nstreamplayer. Maybe you can try that.
At least we have someone to blame when the channels go offline ... just kidding Oh well, I guess sh*t happens.
Hi Phantoman: At home, I usually watch the TVB channels through my Windows PC using Sopcast. All the channels on Sopcast runs very smoothly. As for watching the WLTV channels, all the channels also work fine and runs smoothly. The only channel on WLTV that I find which might be a little slow is TVB Jade. Maybe that is because there might be a lot of people watching the channel. I suggest try watching the channels through the WLTV program or just using Internet Explorer to connect to the links. It should automatically open up Windows media player on both ways. If you have a decent Video Card on your computer and you connect it to your TV, then you can set the options so that all videos will be fullscreen on your TV. My old PC runs on Windows XP Pro and has a 512mb video card. It is connected to my Samsung TV by VGA cable and it runs great. I scanned the WLTV program with AVG and Norton. Both Anti-virus detected nothing and said it was safe to use, fyi. Phantoman: What kind of video card do you have - ATI or Nvidia? Let me know, and I can help you set up your HTPC to your HDTV. If I ever time, I'll take some pictures of my hook-up for you to look at. Sorry I don't have more time to explain it. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to answer them. Just want to say thanks again for your help with the BSPlayer and the rtsp links. Sometimes I watch while driving in the car........very cool and awesome!!!!!!
Lol, I like your last sentence. Just make sure you watch the road more than you watch TVB, ok ??? I have it already running on my HTPC via XBMC to my HDTV. Currently have 7 simultaneous SopCast channels and 4 WLTV channels setup. So there is no need to take more of your time I'll give it a try on the Android one of these days again when I have time. How to I find out sopcast links for US and Canada channels? My goal is to set up PC with HK and north american channels in it. Thanks.
Waw, quite unique question Not really the focus of this thread, but I'll take a quick look later on ... time for bed now (3am over here). EDIT: Didn't find anything during a quick search. There used to be a lot on TVU Networks, but that was a long time ago. I think it makes more sense if you open a separate topic about streaming US and Canada channels.
