Tell me about it. I have a backlog of games to play myself, but not enough time between work, family, study, etc etc etc. Anyway, I really need a channel name, because I am not familiar with Taiwanese channels at all. Yes sure, Google Honestly, that's my main tool. I mean you have the occasional network sniffing which we did with WLTV or the occasional parsing of HTML page sources, but nothing beats Google. [offtopic]Well that might change I guess for those who live in the US (and maybe even the rest of us) if those new proposed piracy laws become a reality (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SOPA_initiative/Learn_more). Anyway, I am quite sure they will be part of the law at some point, so hopefully the results from Google won't be censored outside of the US.[/offtopic] Oh btw, I cannot read Chinese, but when doing the searches I try to use the Chinese names as well since they yield better results.
Hi Phantoman. here are few names of the channels 三立, 民視, 中天, 星空. thx for the tips, I tried googled them by chinese names as you said, I did get a lot of hits but so far the links I found are already dead. :(
Not sure if this has been posted(i couldn't find it in the thread) but there's a SOPcast App for iPhone that can be found in iTunes called SopCast Lite. It works quite nicely. Just my .02
Well 2 days ago after I left the message I did spend the whole night trying to find a working Taiwanese channel, but like you said all of them were dead. Hopefully BETV (as pointed out by mklo) or WLTV has something for you, but since I do not read Chinese I'll leave that task to you Yeah, I saw it on one of my friend's iPads. The only problem if I recall was that it was tailored for the iPhone, so it didn't fill up the full screen of the iPad correctly. Thanks for pointing it out though. Anyway, I'll stick with my Android
Am I the only one with SopCast buffer problems again ? It keeps jumping from 100% to 60% causing the feed to hang periodically.
I'm not having any problems. Happy New Year Phatoman and thanks for sharing your knowledge of Sopcast.
Happy New Year, Kung Hei Fa Choi! The streams seem to be back to normal. I had the same thing on the 31st of December, so I think too many people tuning in for New Year in my area or something like that
Phantom an, I have the same problem with low buffer (never 100 percent) and sometime belw 80 or even 40 cussing irruption on the Chinese new year. You said maybe too many people watching...but isn't that more people watching men's better p2p sharing?
See my comment here: http://www.dramasian.com/forum/show...live-streaming?p=983045&viewfull=1#post983045
Yeah I did. Are there others out there? I'm trying to view them in XBMC, Works great, sometimes I also get disconnects, but figure that's the stream. Also might you know of any vietnamese streams?
Not that I know of, so the WLTV ones are all there is at the moment for Cantonese channels. I also use XBMC, but I had to use Windows Media Player as an external player in XBMC by configuring the following playercorefactory.xml : Code: <playercorefactory> <players> <player name="WMP" type="ExternalPlayer" audio="false" video="true"> <filename>C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe</filename> <args>"{1}" /fullscreen</args> <forceontop>true</forceontop> <hidexbmc>true</hidexbmc> <hidecursor>false</hidecursor> <hideconsole>false</hideconsole> <warpcursor>none</warpcursor> </player> </players> <rules action="prepend"> <rule filetypes="wvx" player="WMP"/> </rules> </playercorefactory> I added the URLs in a WVX file for this to work. If I use a native STRM file to play the streams directly from XBMC, then it's all crap (stutters, hangs, etc.). Apparently you get better results if you are located in the US. And no, I have never seen or heard of any Vietnamese streams. I'll let you know if I ever dump my wife and marry a Vietnamese ... just kidding I'll take a quick look for you around the Internet. Otherwise maybe the others might be able to help you out. EDIT: Btw, I am not sure how long you have been following this thread or whether you read all the pages, but I also use 7 instances of SopCast clients and stream from each SopCast client using XBMC. Please don't ask me how I did ... lol ... I really need to add that FAQ on the main page.
I have a question regarding sopcast player for windows. I cannot add favorite channels to my favorite list. When I click add button during play, nothing happens. Any help? Thanks.
That has never ever worked for me since I started to use SopCast. I did see this work correctly with the iPhone version though.
