thanks op, my mom's gonna love this once i read through the post and get it working. edit: so i got it working on the ipad but i keep getting 1sec delay on every channel on soplite any fix to this?
I saw the same issue on a friend's iPad last time. I think you just have to wait for a new version of SopCast Lite. It's still in it's infancy.
New to the whole world of sopcast! So far have been able to figure it out. But just can't figure out how to watch the Cantonese WLTV channels? I know I'm probably doing this wrong- what I've been doing is just putting the WLTV address into the sopcast address, but it just comes up 'sop address not valid'. Hoping somebody can help me figure it out! P.S. Thanks Phantoman for this thread!
Just copy and paste the WLTV links into Windows Media Player (File -> Open URL). If you are based in the US, then it might work with other media players like VLC Player as well.
Thanks. I've just tried it on vlc and the ELTV list works on the last 4 links, but news does not seem towork. Just been doing a search and noticed there s aproduct out call TVPAD. Has anyone heard of this as an alternitive to TVBS Europe. Thanks
It's already mentioned in this thread. You can watch live channels with it (including tvb channels). The question is how long you can watch the channels? (They don't have any license agreements with TVB and other tv companies) If you can find this product through search, then why can't TVB? You can decide by yourself whether you want to purchase the product or not. The machine is quite expensive, but it will be worth it IF it works for 4-5 months (if you compare it with the monthly subscription fee) However, nobody can predict how long it will work. The more popular the machine becomes, the sooner TVB will get to know of this product and will sue the company of this product.
I've just got sopcast working so wil use this for now rather than the TVPAD, only issue is there is no Childrens TVB for europe which is what i need for the kids to keep entertained unless someone can point me to the right sop link or a link to dl new cantonese cartoons like cars2 or kunfu panda 2 etc. Thanks
I don't think there is a cantonese children channel that can be watch via sopcast or betv at the moment. The movies (dubbed in cantonese) you have mentioned can perhaps be found using google (typing in the right key words). I don't think we can post DL links in this thread.
The WLTV direct link for TVB has been updated. And I would be interested in the Cantonese children channel as well actually, but I have never seen it throughout the years. And no, we are not allowed to provide DL links for movies here.
talking about streaming and cantonese cartoons i would be happy to pay for the service if they had something like cars2 to stream/download like lovefilms.co.uk or netflix. does anyone know of a site which offers this service. thanks I could buy it form yesasia but it takes too long to deliver and i'd only store it on hard disk in the end so would have no use for the physical copy.
For those who can read Chinese and have an Android device, can you please tell me how to get this working ? http://watchandroid.blogspot.com/2012/01/blog-post_14.html I already have the English version of Daroon Player installed. @hawai, much nicer interface than BSPlayer, so you may want to give it a try. As far as I know there was no need to login with BETV. Anyway, I have not used it in a long time, instead I use Sopcast which allows you to login anonymously. There is no need to create an account unless you want to start your own broadcasting channel. I second that. I recall asking ages ago for Cantonese cartoons for my toddler and the only thing I got back was a reference to this McDull character. So I got me this McDull movie where he constantly talks about shitting Even though it's quite funny, I was expecting something a bit more educational from which children can actually learn some stuff like colors, shapes, etc and not only about shitting. So I am still on the lookout. And I am not too eager about physical media either.
well that page only tells you how to download the Daroon Player and further down some text about that is can do and supports. but I can't see any guides or tutorial of using the player.
Thanks, did you find your Taiwanese channels btw ? I think I am watching one right now on SopCast ... ETTV (http://news.ebc.net.tw/apps/index.htm). EDIT: These are the Taiwanese channels that I found on SopCast so far: 东森新闻台, 东森综合台, 東風37台, 台视台, 华视台, 非凡新闻, 三立国际台. If you still need/want them, then let me know and I will PM them to you.

Thanks Phantoman my kids will enjoy wathcing this from saturday. I too got therm Mcdull (Mostly the movie ones) and they were not too keen as colours are not so bright. Was looking at yesasia last night and might buy a few copies. For those that are interested Alternatively cheaper ones can be bought from moviesuper.com but take ages to deliver and not always the ones you want in stock. I would consider dvd swaps for people intersted in the UK. PM me if your interested so i can see if there is a demand for this. thanks
