thanks for that phantoman. Kids will enjoy watching this over the weekend instead of all barneys and 101 dalmation reruns in cantonese. Talking of which i will open up a new thread to see if there are interest to swap cantonese dvd cartoons as i cant be the only one who wants more choice?
When I done install.... Login and password column is blank... can give any idea? Thank you so much... -woot2
Thanks everyone, and especially to Phantoman, for keeping this excellent thread current. I have a question, and I did some searching and couldn't find the answer. I can use WLTV to stream and play in its own player. Is there anyway to use an external player with it so that I can adjust the aspect ratio (a la BETV/sopcast)? I tried entering the rstp addresses directly in windows media player and VLC, but they don't seem to play at all. TIA.
hmm.. that's strange. I can play all rtsp urls in my windows media player and my VLC player, I believe it also can be played in quicktime playe as well. In VLC select menu "Media"->advanced open file... then select Network tab to enter the rtsp url. In windows media player select menu "File"->Open url then enter the rtsp url.
Okido, of course they changed the WLTV links after I updated them yesterday! So I just updated them again and added two more channels this time around: i-Cable Movie 1 (电影一台) and i-Cable Movie 3 (电影三台). Btw, if I messed up any of the Chinese names, please let me know. The J2 channel seems to be corrected as well, it was playing in B&W before. @andyl, just to clarify, KidsCo only has a few cartoons dubbed in Cantonese (see http://www.tvbpayvision.com/channel/details/29/). @chungylau, strange indeed. I can only guess that your firewall or something in that direction is blocking the stream. Can you play the streams directly from WLTV itself ?
That's strange. WLTV works, except the aspect ratio is wrong on the HD channels. I had no trouble using VLC as an external player to Sopcast. When I entered those rstp addresses in VLC (under Open Network Stream), I got a black screen in VLC, with the position bar moving along and finally stopping at 00:35. I tried turning Windows Firewall off and got the same results. This is on my Windows XP machine. I just tried doing this on the Windows 7 machine, and it works properly: I can open those streams in VLC. Not sure what's up with the Windows XP PC.
That is strange. On my Windows XP machine, I cannot watch those streams in VLC. I get a blank screen, and the time slider moves until it reaches 00:35. I tried turning firewall off, with no effect. On my windows 7 laptop, this works correctly.
I tried posting a reply a couple of times, but they don't show up :(. Yes, this is a strange issue. I have problem playing these rstp streams in VLC on my Windows XP machine, while the WLTV app plays correctly, except with a wrong aspect ratio on HD channels. On my windows 7 machine, however, I can play those streams directly in VLC. So it is a set up issue with XP. I tried turning off the firewalls, but it did not help.
@Phantoman: I try posting a reply a few times, but I got a message saying that the moderator has to approve the message first. Not sure what's up with that. Yes, it is really strange that on my Windows XP machine, I cannot play those rstp streams directly in VLC, although they play correctly in WLTV. I have also tried opening all firewalls, with no improvement. On my Windows 7 32-bit machine, however, I have no problem playing those streams in VLC.
Hi, Phantoman, I can't find up i-Cable Movie 3 (电影三台) and i-Cable Movie 1 (电影一台).. Can you give me some idea? Thank you.
Hi, Phantoman, I cant find up I cable 1 and icable 3 on WLTV? Can you give me some suggestion... Thank you
That's because they are not part of the free WLTV version. I guess they are only available on their VIP version, but since I cannot read Chinese it has been a bit difficult for me to find out how to get the VIP version. Anyway, to make a long story short, I came across the i-Cable links by accident while searching the net.
I did some googling and came across this 香港有线电影一台: mms://174.127.91.119/wmhkm.691 mms://174.127.91.121/wmhkm.691 mms://174.127.91.123/wmhkm.691 香港有线电影三台: mms://174.127.91.119/hkm3.312 mms://174.127.91.121/hkm3.312 mms://174.127.91.123/hkm3.312 I can't read much Chinese but I think they are the channels you are looking for. Its not good quality but it is better than nothing.
I think his/her question was more about WLTV itself, as in why he/she cannot see those channels in the WLTV application. I already shared the direct links in the main post, so everybody should already have access to these 2 channels.
