Yeah I'm happy there's another asian in the NBA but I remember I was much more excited for Yao; maybe because Yao was the first chinese player, though i'm sure there was a asian that played before him. Lin beasted this Friday.
^ The difference is Lin is the first Asian American to play in the NBA and he is showing that there is plenty of talent right here and you don't need to look overseas!
wuh?? !^ ^ it fatigued both teams. it seemed obvious, especially for older teams like la and boston. i dislike lin because he doesn't have the humble thing to him like YAO. yao was genuine and he earned people compassion. not like lin.. lin doesn't cut it for me, and race doesn't matter.
^ are u serious? i don't think you've seen him at all because he's even more humble then yao and never mentions "i" in any interview only "the team" or "we" people are calling him humble... a little too humble
look at his reactions. his interviews.. his responses were quoted often, and i have watched him, but they do not come off as being humble. he did a literal 180 within the week! stats or not, im a bit shocked. he was quoted as saying how he was glad the warriors released him, and how he never imagined it to be.. i mean his level of confidence is there, but it is no where comparable to yao. he is who he is, but he doesn't do it for me. sorry. again, i'll back up yao any day, but w/ j.lin? not yet. granted, he is in NYC, so the hype is really really strong.
sorry, i just dont like him. u might find the whole race thing to be a big positive, but i could care less. i dislike it.. sorry.. im just being real. i hold my own. i dont fake it. nor do i follow hype. he has potential w/ his stats, but he is way too ahead of himself.
humble or not. i just dont like him. u can say he's the most humble, but he doesn't compare to yao. w/ yao. i rooted for him, and most would as well given the break through for the sport, but yao never had that big market, nor did he gain over night stardom,, in fact, they used yao as a poster boy. they talked him down. they used him as a tool. but w/ lin, they are marketing him.. oh well. thats just my opinion. i find it surprising that people suddenly found something to cheer about, especially coming form the asian community. lolz.
He is humble and has good choice of words in interviews. It just maybe his youthful flare that he shows on-court that most asians do not show onscreen that upsets you. Yao had to make it strictly professional with all the weight on his shoulders and thus matured a lot faster because of it, and such didn't really have a chance to display his passion in the same manner. Lin feels at home whereas Yao was in a foreign environment, where normally most people would be much more subdued. Jeremy is also communicating his feelings more and has a rather sensationalized story. And I gotta say, a lot more people can connect with Lin more than Yao because he's not someone who has some crazy feature, physique or ability, but someone who's normal that worked toward his goal and crossed hurdles to get to where he is now.
Expresso...u must really not watch his interviews because he does a lot of praising about God and his faith. He is being compared to Tim teebow. and all of a sudeen he gets cameras and interviews everywhere, what do you expect from him? you think he's been practicing in the mirror for a year waiting for this day to come? It just happened that Baron David got an elbow infection and Lin got his chance to shine. It's all God's plan. I dont know how you can just not like someone you don't even know but just assume you know
Jeremy Lin is a feel good story, everyone is cheering for him not only Asians.. The only reason he wasn't discovered sooner was because he's asian.. HS State player of the year and many other awards considerations and not one scholarship offer... If he was black people would be all over him.. Then lakers told his family they would draft him so he's sittin there with his mom and no1 picks him... So he went undrafted and showed enough skills and played well enough to join the nba and warriors regardless and then the knicks.. Dude plays in the NBA but has to sleep at his brothers place.. It's about overcoming adversity and racism that his story and everyone likes him.. Now the knicks were playin so bad with the talent they had and all of a suddenly jeremy lin comes off the bench and lifted them to a winning level and makes everyone around play better theres everything to cheer for
well about skill set, he doesnt have the package yet, its just that he is a 1m91 point guard with good handling skills i have better skill set than him imo but im just 1m77 :( he does have good handling skills, better than me
