http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_t3#/video/bestoftv/2012/02/20/vo-cctv-china-strange-fish.cctv This fish is so strange (strange enough for CNN China at least) that they actually named a US Submarine after it, ...back in 1944, LOL... Hint: It's a Sea Robin
As weird as this?! http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...ries/fish-transparent-head-barreleye-picture/ This fish gives me chills.
Now that's actually news worthy (when released in 2009), as the transparent head species (known since 1939) have never been recorded or taken alive before. But... What I meant with my original post was, that despite CNN China thinking that there was a strange 'new' fish; that fish is actually already so well known that, in 1944, they even named a US Submarine in honor of the fish. In the video, the guy (who apparently bought the fish in a market in China) is seen playing with the fish as if it's a newly discovered species. To make matters worse, the staff at CNN China obviously aren't fishermen either, and after viewing his video, they passed the story on as if it was something news worthy. It ain't. There's already thousands of clips on YouTube about sea robins, and some people even keep them as pets. So, the joke is, while CNN thinks it is putting up a video of something special; everyone already knows it to be nothing new at all... I feel like some things just aren't ment for people to know under the sea... but damn imagine fishing some crazy weird lookin fish out of the water.. I'd be freaked out..
bottom dwellers and deep ocean fishes are being discovered ... wonder if the fish world is getting more confusing for them or if human technologies are getting better in going deeper into the ocean.
