I think the free ride might be over for us. I think they are not broadcasting the Hong Kong channels to the public anymore. I guess the provider of the sopcast streams decided to block public users maybe after a talk with the company behind the TVPAD. The company works with third party providers and the company knows that many are using the sopcast streams to watch TVB channels. The jade satellite channel is still up, I guess since it's a different server. It's skips a fair bit for me though with the buffer never reaching 100%.
Hmmm... I think we all need to live with the on-and-off nature of Sopcast - it is free after all but is really really cool to watch HK TV live overseas for sure Kudos to robo_tec and Phantoman for sourcing the channel listings for the world!

Current version is 1.6.0.7. You'll need to update the 1.6.0.6 client by clicking the update icon on top right corner. No, registration for BETV is free.
Yes, it will work and have the regular BETV channels. There won't be any TVB channels from the old tvchannel.xml list, because it doesn't seem to work on the new client. Register BETV here: http://www.ibetv.com/user/register.html
I have registered and also signed in, but the right side still only shows 2 drop down menus and then just 1 channel, and it keeps asking me to login :( --UPDATE-- I do see the channels now but it keeps asking me to login, and keeps giving me an error.. I can't really make out what the chinese says, but it says something about can't access it from my location or something. I am in Canada

Never mind. I got BeTV top update. But ATV does not work :( Sorry I should have phrased my previous post better. Do those sopcast channels with username and password charge for access now? I wouldn't mind paying if it was reasonable because the quality was pretty good.
