Btw, did you have to pay import tax ? I read that they put a lower price on the invoice to prevent or lower import tax.

    i've setup mine, my TVPad comes with 1 x HDMI, 1 x AV cable, 1 x remote, 1 x AC Adapter, 1 x 8GB TF card.

TF Card comes with some PKG (not installed app), first installation requires to install those apps yourself. (There is one missing which required to download in the forum is "HiTV")

Installation is simple, first to choose English or Traditional Chinese as menu language, then input a 3 digit code (within 30 seconds), then install all apps from TF card, and you can watch your TV then.

    ---------

I have been using it for 30 minutes, the streaming speed is ok. HOWEVER, comparing with PC+Sopcast, maybe TVPad is only 720p, while my PC is 1080p, the screen resolution quality is not as good as PC+Sopcast, but acceptable.

I've tried the USB port with my USB keyboard and mouse, sadly, they didn't work. It only works with USB drive, NTFS format only.

no I didn't have to pay any import tax this time. but ofc, if you buy stuff that is from outside of EU you will have a risk to pay the import tax,
I've ordered some TCG cards from U.S once for about $100 and they billed me for import tax :(

    @uniqlo,
yea I am missing "HiTV" app in my TVPAD too, how do you install it?

    Hey guys/girls,

It seems that BETV has just now stopped broadcasting the ATV channels. The other link
I got here also has ATV, but that seems a different kind of ATV to me.

I had an HTPC running SopCast as well, but if I recall those streams were even lower than 720p. So even if your PC and TV can do 1080p, it won't make much of a difference. Someone wrote that there were 2 apps with TVB, did you try the TVB stream from both apps ?

You do not have any other device that take a microSD card like a phone ? Assuming that it's equal to this TF card thingie. You can transfer the files through your phone.

I keep telling people not to buy Apple ... never mind, I don't want to start an Apple vs Android war in this thread :) Hmmm, by any chance no microSD to SD adapter then ? I think I ran out of options then unless you can find a way to do it from the USB connection with a USB stick or something. TVPad has no file management app which allows you to copy between USB and the microSD card ?

I just order my TVPad from the Ebay seller I mention earlier. Hopefully it will arrive in about 2-3 days.
I know what my first project will be. I'll be streaming the TVPad channels to my Android mobile phone, Iphone, and Samsung and Asus tablets using my Slingbox. I finally got another use for the Slingbox. Let my parents watch TVB in the car or in the bus, or even at work.

You can use a regular usb thumb drive. the file is really small so you don't need a big capacity thumb drive. Also try not to remove the TF card if you don't have to. It is extremely hard to get it and out. I've heard some people complain they can't get the TF card out. I just leave mines plugged in. It's for buffering purpose only.

No you can't, I just tested it and you can only switch between HDMI or AV. Can't use them both at the same time. Sorry!

How long did it take you to get the device from HK? Where are you located? Just wondering if people should order from Asia ro get it from ebay US sellers.

Based on my experience with DHL and UPS, the package will generally arrive in 2-3 days after it has been shipped by the seller. Of course, these companies also offer 24hours delivery service, but that is more expensive.

I should have mine tomorrow then. Just in time for late nights during the weekend :) The last DHL status is that it left HK.

Btw, the WLTV (aka 3TV) links are still alive ... waw! So for those without a TVPad, enjoy while it lasts!
