Carmelo still a problem for the Knicks though. Wonder how this will play out.

Knicks management never fails to disappoint.
If you ever watched the Hawks you know how this will turn out. Woodson never emphasized ball movement and his late game decision making has always been limited. Isolation plays are the key to a Mike Woodson offense. He's a terrible coach.

I know Knicks fans wanted D'Antoni out, but come on. Changing coaches near the end of the season? They basically gave up the rest of the season.

I think it's something to do with this basketball player whose last name is Lin. (Or are you being sarcastic?)
Heh heh, I don't keep up with sports much.

  8. yea there's gonna be a lot of Iso plays for melo to take 25 shots a game a touch the ball 50 times in the 4th, I just hope he's going to give Lin enough looks under his management style but anything is better then Dantoni's crappy defense. Hope he does ok only enough for Phil Jackson to take over next year and hopefully Lin will be around.

Not really. The knicks play good D with Melo and Amare on the bench. It was probably their strongest point as they were top 10 in defensive efficiency. Mike Woodson is not known for his defensive prowess, and his lack of an effective offensive system makes him even worse. I also don't think he can control players. He seemed to have problems in Atlanta.

W/e, the Knicks are basically just being the dysfunctional team we have always known them for. The laughing stock of the NBA for a good decade.

  10. they brought woodson in to help datoni with the d in the first place, all the team was lacking is defense, they got the talent to score so as soon as they play d they are going to win which is what dantoni's system is lacking.

That's another example of the Knicks terrible front office. Woodson was brought in for defence, yet he has never been adept at creating defensive strategies. His offence is all isolation so it's basically carmelo at the elbow or a post up each possession. Any NYK fan who sees this transition as a positive thing is out of their minds. If Carmelo just bought into D'Antoni's system, they would've been a top 5 east team. Also Carmelo is not even close to a top 10 player, like Dolan thought he was when he pushed for the trade. He might not even be a top 15 player at this rate.

I wouldn't be surprised if they miss the playoffs now. It's really satisfying to see this team burn to ashes with current management. I can't stand James Dolan and his linear views.

  12. Any transition from the current Datoni system is a positive thing, they can't get any worse then they are right now and with that being said Dantoni has a really huge ego i don't think Woodson's D even applied during the games.. the switch switch switch defense is the dumbest thing i've seen on the defensive end. I've never seen a team with a roster this deep and as much talent suck this bad, i think with the right coach it's only going to get better even with the radioactive Melo.

I think they should drop melo and davis, go with JR smith and shumpert as backup point/shooting guard, jared replacing melo for defense.

Linsanity is officially over for this season. The Knicks just lost the series to the Heat 4-1.

Jeremy Lin being the fourth person graduated from Harvard and playing in the NBA is amazing.
