LOL... citing Canadian law regarding the practices of an Australian carrier is rather idiotic as well as moot, since Canadian law only applies to Canadian carriers. I've stated this before, and I'll say it again: airlines need to start charging by weight; just like for luggage. Smaller people use up less fuel so they should be charged less, while larger people are of greater burden so of course they should pay more. Passengers that don't like it have to option to lose weight... or walk. :p

I agree with the airline. She needs to buy 2 seats and pay for 2 seats. Its inconsiderate of her to the person sitting next to her.

I hate when fat people blame everyone in the world.

    stfu and get a diet.
If you have a genetic sickness, then pay up. It's the cost being different.

What's the next step? They are going to sue Nike because they are charging 40$ for a shirt in S, M, L, and XL size, and 60$ for XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL size and they will call that discrimination? Seriously, stfu.

As offensive as you are, I agree. Obese people think everyone has to accommodate their needs. Its quite annoying to be honest.

It's so annoying sitting next to some of these bigger folks in tiny spaces, can't move at all. I think they should pay for the 2nd sit unless these airlines start putting in bigger sits for these people in a certain area so other thinner folks don't have to get up or go climbing over them to get to the restroom on these flights. It had happened to me before so I know how annoying it is to sit next to a big big person.

    rofl fuking fat people disgusting!

okay thatts kinda fuked up, but im just saying fat people uses the excuse of them being fat WAY too fat. i need a parknig space closer to the building becuz im fat. i need to go first or w/e cuz im fat. they treat it as if being fat is a handicap or something, which itsn't unless you're some people with genetic disorders. others just choose to fuking sit and eat all day long

seriously... these big fat obese peoples are getting rather annoying... i was at an amusement park a few months back, two different rides, two very big women, neither of which could get in the ride, bitched, moaned, complained that the seats were too small and that they were gonna sue cuz the attendant was hurting them while trying his best to lock them down for the ride... all the while refusing to leave till they bitched and moaned to satisfaction...

I observed similar situations while at disney world. i find it quite disturbing every time i go down to the states how obese the general population is becoming. While most of the world starves, americans are continuing to balloon up due to poor lifestyle and high fat, low nutritional food. Corn is the main culprit, corn starch, and particularly high fructose corn syrup.

If i were in charge of the american education system, i would make a course on 'Eating healthy' a required part of elementary school curricula. Phys. ed. is useless unless you are encouraging that students learn that proper dieting is an important part of maintaining a healthy body.

Americans shouldn't be as concerned as Australians.. It seems that we have a larger % of the population obese then you guys.

But seriously, she should have paid for 2 seats ~ Jetstar is a budget airline here; Her seat would have been ridiculously cheap anyways.

... and BB are ya one of them ... :shifty:

  16. i must agree with the lot of you....... obese people should not be getting the privileges they think they deserve.... if they can't help being fat then fine with documentation they should get the seat but if you don't even try and continue to be obese by choice then you should just be shafted...
