Hosted by Hong Kong’s largest non-profit independent charity organization, the Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk for Millions was held on Sunday, January 6. Many civilians, charities, and business companies, including the artists from three of Hong Kong’s largest broadcasting corporations – TVB, ATV, and Metro Broadcast Corporation – took time off in the morning to participate in the charity walkathon.

With over 200 artists and crew participating, TVB had the largest presence at the walkathon. A majority of TVB’s current fadans, including Fala Chen (陳法拉), Tavia Yeung (楊怡), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), Samantha Ko (高海寧), Koni Lui (呂慧儀), Eliza Sam (岑麗香), Grace Wong(王君馨), Mandy Wong (黃智雯), and Sire Ma (馬賽) attended the walkathon.

With the exception of Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Jason Chan (陳智燊), Oscar Leung (梁烈唯), and a few others, TVB popular siu sangs were nowhere to be seen.

Oscar Leung Urges Wong Jing to Reconsider Film Offer

Producer Wong Jing (王晶) considered to offer Oscar a ten-film contract after the two collaborated in Young and Dangerous: Reloaded <古惑仔:江湖新秩序>, which will open in Hong Kong cinemas on January 10. Wong Jing had plans to cast Oscar in a major role alongside Chow Yun Fat (周潤發) and Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) in an upcoming film. However, due to Oscar’s legal troubles with restaurateur Kenny Wee (黃浩), Wong Jing decided to withhold his offer temporarily, stating, “I am afraid that Oscar has unresolved emotional issues [due to the lawsuit]. So I am putting aside my plan to sign him for ten films, but I will still offer him a contract on a per film basis.”

At the Community Chest walkathon, Oscar was supported by TVB high executives Virginia Lok (樂易玲 ), Lee Po On (李寶安 ), and Au Wai Lam (區偉林). Ms. Lok said, “TVB will stand up to any of our artists who are suffering unfair treatment.”

Oscar thanked his company for the support. “When any of our colleagues are in trouble, we will all stand up to help each other. I do not want to comment on the lawsuit anymore, but I really want to thank my company.” As for losing out on signing a ten-picture deal with Wong Jing’s company, which valued at a seven-figure sum, Oscar reassured that he is fine and capable. “I will not bring my personal issues to my work, so I hope Jing Gor will reconsider me!”
