Wednesday December 6, 2006 Hong Kong All news in this article is according to reports and are not official results. 2006 JSG: Joey Wins For The 4th Time; Leo's Chances Increased, Eason's Chances Lowered The 2006 TVB Jade Solild Gold Music Awards will be held on January 13, 2007. According to reports, Joey Yung will win Favorite Female Singer award for the 4th time in a row. While Leo Ku will win Favorite Male Singer and Song of the Year for 愛得太遲. For the Favorite Female Singer, Joey has the highest chances of winning because Miriam Yeung has been on a hiatus with her music while her contract is expiring and because Denise Ho isn't considered at par with Miriam and Joey, TVB has no choice but to give the award to Joey. For the Favorite Male Singer, there are 4 contenders, Andy Lau, Hacken Lee, Eason Chan, and Leo Ku with Eason and Leo being the forerunners. But because Eason openly "dissed" TVB, his chances at this award is lowered. To make it even more apparent that TVB is unhappy about Eason's voicing out, they sent an email to Cineoply (Eason's record company) regarding their unhappiness that Eason voiced his opinion. Therefore, Leo's chances at the award is increased while Eason's chances are lowered. As for Song of the Year, Leo's 愛得太遲 has done extremely well and will win the award. Eason has a contending song, 最佳損友, that could win Song of the Year but because he did not attend JSG Round 1, this song is not nominated for any JSG awards. With that said, anything can happen. TVB has ways of surprising people like they have in the past. i have never understood the big deal with joey. wat has happened to all of the good singers from hk??? how is it really an award if there is no competition? shouldn't awards be given to the one deserving? eason can voice whatever he wants, tvb cannot deny that the guy is talented to beyond words. if tvb can't take a little criticism then they are in the wrong business. if tvb only wants to give their awards they like then give it to the tvb actors (kevin cheung, ron ng, raymond lam etc). that way they can over advertise those actors/so-called singers some more! sorry if i sound harsh, but to neglect those deserving of recognition for their talents is just dumb. gosh, remember in the 90s when jsg awards were sooo good to watch? now it's all about who's tvb's pet. no wonder so many of the artists in hk today couldn't carry a tune even if their life depended on it.
Whats wrong with Joey winning ? it's not her fault that there is no competition...after Kelly and Sammi were absent from the scene there hasnt been alot of competition in the female category.. who do you have to go up against Joey? ....Mariam? Denise? im a huge denise fan... but shes not quite there yet...mariam doesnt have a good voice... and gigi well she wasnt really that popular to begin with... in a few years Janice will be there. From what you said up there it sounded like Joey didnt deserve the awards she got in the past.... i completely disagree with you.
i never said it's joey's fault for winning the award. gotta give the award to someone right? just wondering how it really is an award when there isn't a competition for it... if i sound like i hate joey, then i apologize. got no hate for her. if i hate her for the prepackaging her company has made her into than i might as well hate the entire asian circle of entertainers right? i've just never been all that interested in her singing. always been a question as to her gain to success in the entertainment circle...all due to hard work or people (ummm...rich business men) bringing the success???... but i guess these days, talent doesn't seem to be the big thing as long as you have the look. sad but true. like the other day, my friend was going on and on about how bad eason is simply because he doens't have the looks!!! oh gosh...i'm gonna start getting hate email from joey fans...sorry all you joey fans...just my opinion...

I agree with Leo winning 愛得太遲 is just a fantastic song, I am Joey fan but her songs weren't that great this year, I think Denise or Janice should win I liked their albums a lot more.
Hah, you kind of seem like you are contradicting yourself about joey. -rolleyes Anyways, they all look wierd in those pics -unsure And I think you can expect this kind of thing in everyday life. In most cases, if you kiss your bosses ass you probably have a better chance of being promoted whereas if you offend your boss your future won't look too bright. I'm sure Eason doesn't want to win awards based on his relationship with TVB but rather for his singing. I definitely respect him more for that.
well leo did do really well this year. i loved his album. but like i feel its so unfair for eason. tvb just can't take open critism ><;;
