Talk about famous love duet, one will naturally think of "Modern's love story", and naturally think of Zhang Chi Lam. In 2009, Chilam enters the Music Industry once again, and worked together with Myolie Wu, who has joined the Music Industry not long, for a love duet. This time, in the interview with AM730, we talked about their cooperation and whether they could create good chemistry and make another generation's love story in 2009? Extremely looking forward to creating 2009 New Love Song AM730 - A, Chilam - C, Myolie - M A: New song "Break Off" is the first piece of work that both of you have cooperated for. What is the song trying to express? C: "Break Off", as the name suggests, is a break up story. When discussing with the producer about the direction of the song, we were thinking of using either from a third party point of view, or the couple themselves. In the end, we used from the third party's point of view and use a different angle to view the situation. In addition, the mandarin version of "Break Off" is written by me. It is because when i was listening to the melody of the song, i felt that i was very nice and asked for the chance to write it. M: Going deeper into it, the song is about two people who are experienced in their love life. It talks about how some kind of love, the tighter one holds it, it may result in one being more hurt. On the other hand, letting go a bit may not be as difficult as one thinks it is. It also talks about how impermanence love is. Most of the time, one cannot control or choose the situations, it brings a sense of helplessness. "Break Off" shows the current people's view on love. It is a song that helps to straighten out thinking, can be considered Year 2009's Modern Love Story. Return to Hong Kong, Touched Everyone once again A: Chilam has been focusing on advancing his career in China, what is the reason for coming back to Hong Kong Music Industry once again? C: Mainly is because of receiving the invitation from the Recording Company. I have thought about it a long time. Actually i stopped and focused on my acting career because Hong Kong's Music industry was badly affected by the printing of pirated disc. However, seeing how the recording company is willing to invest its resources, and after much discussions, the deal is sealed. This is one reason why we cooperated too. In addition, i also feel that i need to sing again. As the saying goes, remember where one started off. Hong Kong is my home, i also have to take care of the people in Hong Kong. Now i have a chance to share my music with everyone. Hope to make good use of this opportunity. A: What are your feelings towards each other when you two work together? Is there anything interesting? M: The feeling that he gave me was..this brother is very gentleman. I feel very honored to be able to work together with him. I can remembered that i was already very touched by his singing voice when i met him in the recording studio. His singing can touch the audience's feelings and emotions. This is the most difficult part in singing, and is what i hope to learn from him. In addition, it seems like he has not changed much over the years. Even after becoming a father, he can still attract everyone. The most memorable thing is singing a duet for "Keroro". The Japanese's version of the song is very fast and high tuned. And although he looks very gentle, he can actually sing the cartoon's version. C: It is my first time working with her so i don't know her very well. She gives me the feel that she is a career oriented lady. She is always in a rush, is a very hardworking artiste. When i worked with her the second time, we sang the main theme song for the cartoon. The next cooperation will be filming together in Hokkaido at the end of October. Having so many opportunities to work together in such a short span of time, i also feel that we are quite fated. I believe that we will be close friends after filming the new drama together. Challenging oneself, creative in all aspects A: You took part in writing the lyrics for the song "Break Off", how do you feel when you were producing it? C: There will definitely be some difficulty, struggled for a few weeks and it still wasn't completed. Although i have experience in writing the lyrics, but i am not a professional composer after all. In the end, i have to set a dateline for myself and finally completed it after 3 to 4 hours. I need some inspiration when i compose too. Once i start writing, i cannot stop. Besides having an interest in writing lyrics, it is also a way to challenge myself. I admire those who are very good in composing, such as Lin Xi, because i feel that they are very good in their language. A series of Cooperation, works of fate A: Both of you have many jobs together in such a short span of time. Is it arranged? Any plans in the future? M: All of us also feel that we are very fated suddenly. A chance to film a drama together, signed a contract with the same recording company and in the coming drama, there may be a chance to sing a duet together again. And i will be very busy at the end of the year. I will be holding a mini concert towards the end of November, and launching my new album. This is the first time that i wrote the lyrics for a song in my new album as well. I am looking forward to the lyrics that i wrote because if the lyrics of the song is written by myself, i believe that when i sing it, i will be even more absorbed. I will feel very satisfied and i also hope to know how everyone feel about it and their comments about it. C: After filming in Japan in October, i will be preparing my own album. I have not seen my friends in Hong Kong for at least 5 years, be it on TV or in Music. Before, i was busy in China and with my baby. Growing with the child needs time. Now i feel it is time to come back and visit everyone. During the interview, Myolie mentioned that she hopes that "Break Off" will be 2009 "Modern Love story". This thinking makes me think that as a classic, it is something that one cannot forget. If want to create another classic, besides having the strength, as what the two mentioned, it requires fate as well, then can turn the good piece of music into a classic. Hope that their hardwork and fate and turn the good piece of music into a new classic. Credits: Linnette @ http://myoliewuhangyee.com/forum
