Earlier this week, the twenty contestants for the 2013 Miss Hong Kong Pageant went to TVB City and paid a visit to Hacken Lee (李克勤), who was hired to be the celebrity instructor of the pageant. On his thoughts about the quality of contestants this year, Hacken exclaimed, “Some are quite outstanding!” Asked if his wife, former Miss Hong Kong Emily Lo (盧淑儀), has given Hacken any tips on how to discipline her juniors, Hacken said, “My wife is too busy taking care of our son. She doesn’t have time for me!” Virginir Lau Bombarded with Rumors As a hot favorite to win the crown, contestant #9 Virginir Lau (劉溫馨) also became a popular target of gossip. Recent rumors alleged that the pageant’s other popular candidate, Karen Lam (林芷嘉), had claimed that Virginir only wears counterfeit clothes. The 22-year-old clarified, “I do not wear knock-offs. I also don’t know [Karen]. I have no idea what’s going on. I don’t wear famous brands anyways, so there’s no need for me to get knock-offs. Miss Hong Kong contestants are not vain.” Maybe the accuser is jealous of Virginir’s beauty? “Maybe,” said Virginir. “But beautiful people will look good in anything!” Vicky Chan Shows Off Slim Waist Though most contestants were conservatively dressed, contestant #20 Vicky Chan (陳偉琪) wore a tight-fitting black crop top, showing off her slim waist. Asked if she was satisfied with her figure, she said, “I really like this shirt, so that’s why I chose to wear it today. I am a thoughtful dresser.” Contestant #3 Tessy Yu (余思慧) wore a light-weighted chiffon tank top. When the press expressed that she looked like she was wearing her undergarments, Tessy explained, “I studied in the United States, so I am more laid-back when it comes to dressing. However, I will not wear this when I am in crowded places. I will wear more to protect myself.” Creds: Apple Daily
