Should I get an Envision 22 inch for $150 or the Samsung one for $200... The Envision one is a 700:1 contrast ratio with 5ms response and it includes a dvi cable, integrated speakers http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...=product&tab=2&id=1180743546134#productdetail The Samsung is 1000:1 contrast ratio with 2ms response time and i don't think it includes the latter http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...=product&tab=2&id=1183160137115#productdetail Both has max res at 1680 x 1050 Is it worth it to add 50 bucks for the Samsung brand name instead of a generic brand and also a higher contrast ratio/response time. I'm not really using it for high quality graphics gaming and all that just to probably hook up some game systems too cause i don't have a lcd tv. Or do you guys recommend another brand, hopefully it's not over a 300 Retail price range though. Note: I probably won't be able to get it at the prices mentioned but i can use for future references in case i want to get an lcd later on, thanks.
I would recommend the Samsung because it has brilliant colours. I have it ^^ The only thing you have to check is, what panel u get, sometimes if you are unlucky you will get B or C stuff.
yea i heard about that, i mean when i got my laptop same thing, the lcd is manufactured by other companies, i could tell the difference (i had to refund the first one and get another one, with a different brand of lcd). So does the samsung come with a dvi cable? probably can't fit a 27" in my space lol, but i dunno how soon the 24" is gonna drop but the pricing on it is probably gonna be expensive (these monitors are at black friday prices lol). Also i had my crt for like 7-8 years already, and it's almost dying (sometimes it turns off and turns on by itself) so i dunno... i wonder if 24" can go below 200 by the end of 1st or 2nd quarter next year, i don't think so though lol.
http://www.bestbuy.com/olspage.jsp?id=1188561324689&skuId=8553326&type=product or http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8347256&type=product&id=1176506660294 giver like 6 months and their prices will have dropped like 150 bucks
^ but it's still gonna be like 350 in six months right, but does like a 2 inch difference warrant a 150 dollars difference, i mean i can get the samsung for like 200 right now ($130 off black friday price haha, not guaranteed though), i like the resolution of the bigger ones though. And that Hans one, its big but the contrast ratio is still lower than a 22/24 inch samsung but it's 1080p lol but i won't be needing that until i want to hookup a ps3 or something lol...
^cheaper yes but cheaper doesn't mean long lasting, and the features of the other monitor like the contrast ratio and that samsung is a more trusted brand can be worth the price difference... anyone know what the contrast ratio really does, is it better/ more "future-proof" to get a monitor with better response/contrast ratio, cause i don't want to be getting something that would be bested by a mile in just one year and also would drop lower than this price in like a couple of months. buying is hard lol...
i think samsung despite being lower in response rate, i've always thought that it delivers a clearer and more sharper picture and they are prob one of the best lcd makers if u get a panel made by them in my opinion. just make sure that when u get it u get the good panel. otherwise u should be fine. i think u should also wait cos it will drop in price. just make sure u get like a 5 yr warranty with it and u'll be fine. lol.
lol my 15" lcd isnt in used=p im using the 19" dell 1905fp monitor which its like 3-4 years ago also lol
i think the lower response rate is a good thing, 2 millisecond vs. 5 millisecond or something right? but it's already a $130 price drop and if you mean purchasing the warranty from the store, no way man i'm sick of that got hustled by the stores for 2 warranties for my computers already ( i was dumb) and they're worth 200 dollars each (the warranties). and how do you make sure it's a good panel when you buy it, i know how to check in the display properties and stuff but that's only if you get it hooked and turned on. at least you using a lcd lol, i'm still using a 8 year old sony 19" trinitron CRT, you know how much space that bulky thing takes lol...i have to sit very close.
Samsung would be the better bet out of the 2 being a better brand and it would have better support for warranty and any problems.
yea i know but is it worth 50 bucks to get that... still have like a couple days to decide but i'll probably look for the envision first and if it sells out i get the samsung lol.
envision! lolz now i might actually buy envision on black friday as well as the sony notebook for $400 lol
I suggest the Samsung Syncmaster no more than 22" cause of the response time. It's the best gaming monitor on the market. No ghosting what so ever and the color quality straight out of the box is great. It's 300 and some dollars at newegg.com but newegg drops its prices alot so wait a bit if you can and you'd get it for around 250. It's a great monitor.
samsung ftw!!! im still trying to find another samsung 940b (just so i can have dual monitor at home) but its like $350aud to get one =/ and thats still only a 19" >.< i have a samsung 961gw here at work but its really cool~ can fold it all the way down lol
the syncmaster looks hot,so the one i posted is syncmaster right since the model number is 2232BW... i think i will have to opt for this one anyways since the envision probably gonna be sold out fast lol and i heard people say it has an annoying light in the front, but oh yea anyone like "LG" monitors, cause there's one for like 220 bucks for a 21.6 inch, and i'll probably get that if it's good. O yea offtopic, but anyone know what's the best 2 piece desktop speaker in the 20-30 bucks range...
