ok i need help. My current desktop has 2 monitors and i use a nvidia card that allows me to use those 2 monitors. So how would i put on a 3rd monitor? My motherboard doesnt have a second pci-e slot for me to go sli on my card =<
You just answered your own question. Either find a spare slot (agp or pci) on your motherboard to throw in a second video card or use on board mobo video.
so all i ahve to do is buy a second pci card and it will be able to drive another monitor? will the performance on my primary display suffer because im using a garbage card on the third monitor?
because my primary display monitor is different from the other 2 that i have... so my setup is kinda ugly right now! id argue about productivity as well but the truth is 2 monitors are enough for everyday work
you can use something like this http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/ it lets you drive 3 monitors but i've noticed from using it that it caused noticiable amounts of lag on my system when it is running for me
You can try this. http://www.maxivista.com/ If you have an old computer, you can hook one of your monitors up to it and this software will skip all the guesswork for you. I haven't tried it yet, because my computer can support up to 4 displays. (1 VGA, 1 HDMI, 1 S-Video, and 1 DVI).... but it's worth a try.
