Starring: Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Sullivan Stapleton, Lena Headey and many more.
    Directed By: Noam Murro

Plot: After its victory over Leonidas' 300, the Persian Army under the command of Xerxes marches south towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes' army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles. Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. But Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land.

First movie was awesome with it's over the top action and cool one liners.
I'm not sure if this sequel can be as good or better than first one though.

If anyone's looking for Xerces, he's supposedly here:

It's a shame that they don't let anyone actually into the tombs. But given the past results from other tourist enabled archaeologic sites, perhaps that's a smart thing. I'm guessing that the real Xerces didn't have on an outfit like in the 300. At any rate, I see this latest sequel as a blatant attempt to milk the financial teat of this golden calf; the first movie was an obvious commercial success, making nearly half a billion from a paltry 65 million investment.

At any rate, I think the movie makers have their work cut out for them. In this case, their heroes, ie. the warriors of Sparta; are already dead. So now what? The Wives of Sparta? 300 Widows? What? Making a movie with just more battle scenes without purpose is a good way to waste an audiences' time. But, on the other hand, viewers are so shallow nowadays, that perhaps a flash in the pan with lots of CGI slow motion sinew and gore, regardless of story, will sell. Time will tell.
