The 36th Hong Kong Film Awards closed the curtains on Sunday, April 9 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, where the best of the best in the Hong Kong film industry were awarded with the highest honors. Not only did these A-listers impress the stage, they also impressed the red carpet, making it an annual affair to celebrate. Check out some their outstanding pieces below!

    1. Kitty Zhang Yuqi (張雨琦)

Black was in season at this year’s red carpet. Starting off the trend was Zhang Yuqi in her flowing, embellished dress cape from the Zuhair Murad 2017 Couture collection. The cape flared out like a ball gown, making it one of the most extravagant looks of the night.

    2. Jessie Li (春夏)

Last year’s Best Actress winner Jessie Li is keeping it youthful and simple in a dress from the Blumarine 2017 Spring/Summer collection. Along with her Tiffany & Co. earrings and Sergio Rossi heels, Jessie looked like she was stepping down from an angel’s lair.

    3. Janice Man (文詠珊)

The Best Supporting Actress nominee was the talk of the carpet last year when she showed off her figure in a revealing black gown. This year, the Cold War 2 <寒戰II> actress wrapped up a bit more with a sheer Louis Vuitton dress, making it one of the most interesting looks at the red carpet.

    4. Vicki Zhao Wei (趙薇)

Zhao Wei played safe with her Dice Kayek dress from the Autumn/Winter collection, which appears to be more suitable for warmer weather, but the Best Film from Mainland and Taiwan presenter looks no less graceful and refined.

    2017-hong-kong-film-awards-chrissie-chau.jpg

    5. Chrissie Chau (周秀娜)

Chrissie Chau stunned in a pair of Valentino dress pants and a deep-V leather top that is headlining many major entertainment outlets.

    6. Jelly Lin Yun (林允)

The Mermaid <美人魚> actress and Best New Performer nominee followed the trend of her seniors and took on a black dress for the red carpet, wearing a Chanel gown and a pair of Jimmy Choo pumps.

    7. Zhou Dongyu (周冬雨)

The Soul Mate <七月與安生> star and Best Actress nominee charmed in a black Miu Miu dress, accompanied with Giuseppe Zanotti heels, all which complemented her thin figure.

    8. Irene Wan (溫碧霞)

The veteran actress is a regular amongst red carpet events, and she knows how to make a statement. Irene didn’t wear black like a lot of her peers, but she did shine in a cute chiffon dress from the Christian Dior 2017 collection. The cute designs made Irene look even more youthful and ageless.

    9. Kara Hui (惠英紅)

The Best Actress winner definitely dressed for the occasion, with her flaring green ball gown and Tiffany & Co. jewelry pieces amassing to HK$5 million — all signs of a queen getting crowned for the third time.

    10. Elaine Jin (金燕玲)

The Best Dressed of the night went to Supporting Actress winner Elaine Jin for Mad World <一念無明>, who won the Best Dressed award alongside her co-star Shawn Yue (余文樂). The veteran actress blinded eyes with her sophisticated one-piece dress. She complemented the look with a diamond bracelet in platinum worth over HK$5 million.
