The director of 3D Sex and Zen Extreme Ecstasy <3D肉蒲團之極樂寶鑒>, Christopher Sun (孫立基), has been linked to a nude casting call. During fake casting interviews for a movie dubbed as Operation Nightlight <夜色行動>, unsuspecting actresses were asked to strip naked. Scam artists have been using Christopher Sun’s name to recruit actresses for the casting call. Sexy Actresses Wanted Recently, online ads to recruit potential actresses for Operation Nightlight appeared on Renren, Rencai, QQ, and other social networking site in China. The ad claimed that Christopher Sun planned to hire a number of actresses for a new movie called Operation Nightlight. The applicants are required to be pretty, sexy, and possess a nice figure. The ad stated that complete nudity will be involved in the film, but camera angles will be used to hide the genital areas. Christopher Sun Exposes Hoax Yesterday, Christopher clarified that he has no plans to film Operation Nightlight. The director also stated that he has never authorized anyone to represent him to interview potential actresses. In his Weibo post yesterday, Christopher called the perverted scam artists despicable, and should be punished by law. He also begged people to be careful of such crimes, and suggested that netizens contact him directly if his name is involved in any related ads. Actresses Scammed Already! Currently in Hong Kong filming his next project, Christopher Sun became aware of the scam when the manager of mainland artist, Daniella Wang (王李丹妮), contacted him and asked him whether he will be in Beijing soon for the casting interview of Operation Nightlight. Immediately sensing something to be amiss, Christopher realized that scam artists have been using his name for the illicit casting calls. After further investigation, Christopher discovered that gullible movie stars and models have already stripped in the screening tests. To protect the privacy of the victims, Christopher will not disclose their names. The Proper Auditions Process Christopher said that the interview process for movies that requires nudity are self-regulated and openly transparent. There are no online casting ads. The potential candidates are usually recommended by friends and associates. The pre-production team would then review the list of candidates to narrow down the artists called in for screen tests. Before any auditions, the team will contact the prospect’s school or family to make sure no complications will arise in the future. There are no one-on-one auditions; the pre-production team, the manager and/or (family members) of the artist will be present for the process. The only reason why an actress may need to appear nude in the auditions is to scan for any tattoo(s) or noticeable scar(s). The rest of the casting interview would usually involve the discussion of the movie, and whether or not the nude scenes will present any problems for the actress. Forgive me, but somehow, this just sounds so Chinese; poor girls... On the other hand, fake model photographers the world over, have been preying on the star struck for years. There's big business in making these desperate young ladies (or their parents) pay for their own 'portfolio' (usually a worthless collection of badly taken "professional" pictures sold to the unsuspecting as a de rigueur requirement of entry into the modeling industry) and most don't realize it until they're in for several thousand. You can find these even in American malls when some stranger approaches and tells you your child has exactly the "child model look" they want.
