The D-backs sent second baseman Kelly Johnson to the Blue Jays on Tuesday in exchange for infielders Aaron Hill and John McDonald.

Johnson was hitting .209 with 18 homers and 49 RBIs for Arizona.

Hill was hitting .225 with six homers and 45 RBIs for the Jays while McDonald was batting .250 with two homers and 20 RBIs. In corresponding moves, the D-backs transferred right-handed pitcher Jason Marquis to the 60-day disabled list, and the Blue Jays recalled catcher Brian Jeroloman from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Such a sad day as there was an earthquake and now this :(
Johnnyy Mac was such a loyal player for the Jays, playing anywhere in the infield really, and even though staying on the bench for most of his career in the Jays :(

  2. yea too bad for mac...but hill had to go ...in AA we trust :)

Sad day, I liked Hill, he hasnt had a good season compared to last year but he's a big part of the franchise. Same with Johnny Mac, not great but makes some of the best plays....

  4. I'm reading that jonny mac plans to sign with Jays next year anyways -lol all 3 of these guys are Free Agents in the off season

on the bright side for Hill and Mac they get to play in the postseason for the first time.
