Actors Who May Have Had Nose Jobs

    Seeking a Perfect Nose

Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. With the proper rhinoplasty, it can change how your whole face looks, as the nose gives structure to your face and is the vertical line of reference connecting the eyes to the mouth.

Many Asians complain that their nose is too flat, too fleshy, or the nostrils flare too wide. Rhinoplasty can correct all these complaints. Rhinoplasty is actually more common than we think, as there are numerous celebrities who have spent thousands of dollars on new noses!

Sammi Cheng Sau Man's nose job is actually quite easy to spot. When she first entered the industry, her nose was quite fleshy and round. But over time, the tip of her nose became pointer and the flare of the nostrils has been reduced.

    Jayne's Rating: 5 Stars

The nose job was done quite well as it highlights Sammi's cheekbones and the width of the nose is in proportion with the rest of her face. Hey if Sammi is the new face of beauty pitching brands like Max Factor, then we gotta give her new nose 5 stars!

You might not believe that Joyce Tang Lai Ming had plastic surgery on her nose...but I found this really old photo of Joyce when she starred in "Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre" (Lawrence Ng version). It hardly looks like Joyce in that photo! Well aside from heightening the bridge of her nose, Joyce also got porcelain veneers for her teeth.

    Jayne's Rating: 4 Stars

The new height of the bridge of her nose (particularly the area between her eyes) highlight her cheekbones very well. Apparently Joyce didn't do a lot of work to reshape the tip of her nose. I think Joyce got her nose job done really early (probably right after "Armed Reaction 1"), so it's very hard to find photos with her old nose.

Thanks to Buster's research and photos (and Asia posting it on her blog), apparently Raymond Lam Fung had rhinoplasty during the filming of "Twin of Brothers" while in China. Raymond elevated the bridge of his nose (the space between his eyes) and created a much more chiseled face. You can see this noticeable difference when you compare his old photos with more recent ones.

    Jayne's Rating: 4 Stars
I think Raymond's new nose looks perfect. I especially like his new side profile.

Kristy Yeung Kung Yu is probably one of the most successful Miss Asia beauty pageant contestants in the movie industry. Kristy's face is very photogenic and with her refined nose (and double eyelids), Kristy can do more close-ups than ever.

    Jayne's Rating: 4 Stars
Very minor nose job done to reduce the flare of the nostrils. Kristy had a wonderfully defined nose tip already, so she didn't need a lot of work. But the rhinoplasty was subtle and looks great!

Rumors say that Carol Dodo Cheng Yu Ling had quite a bit of cosmetic surgery done after the success of 1980's classic "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." Carol in the 1970's and early 1980's did not have the same nose as now, nor did she have the same eyes (there's double-eyelid work done to make her eyelids more balanced and defined).

    Jayne's Rating: 3 Stars
Why only a 3 star rating, when Carol obviously looks so much better with her new nose? Well I personally feel that the bridge of her nose was elevated too high and straight, leading to a very unnatural side profile. But the nose looks good nevertheless from the full-frontal view.

Anne Heung Hoi Nam seems to have gotten a minor procedure to change the angle between the nose and upper lip. When she smiles now, there is more space between the tip of her nose and her upper lip. Also her nose seems less fleshier now and the tip more refined.

    Jayne's Rating: 3 Stars

Anne's new nose is very natural looking and has a nice side profile.

Kenix Kwok Ho Ying actually didn't get work done on her nose until much later in her career. I only noticed a difference when she was filming "Shine On You," but perhaps the rhinoplasty was done earlier. Anyone know what timeframe she had her nose done?

    Jayne's Rating: 2 Stars

I really feel that Kenix's old nose was better looking and more full of character. The new nose is shaped according to our ideals of what a perfect nose should look like (small, pointy and defined), but somehow the old nose looks better on Kenix. I thought she was gorgeous during the filming of "Detective Investigation Files." Sad to say, I feel that Kenix's nose job wasn't worth her money.
