How do you prevent yourself from getting hurt again? especially if it happen to you more than once but it doesn't have to be more than once

after being dumped i get really depressed and as time slowly passes so does the pain and then after the pain i look back at the relationship and see where i could've improved or something and then hope i dont make the same mistakes

  3. i don't think the painful experience is a bad thing... the more pain u feel, the more u've loved... it's b pretty scary if u don't feel any pain after a break up... coz that means u've become so numb that u dun even know how to love anymore...

be greatful that u r still able to shed tears for your lost love today... coz some ppl have already lost that sense from bad relationships time after time...

Preventing yourself not to be hurt is to NOT involve in any relationship. You distance yourself from everyone and you wont hurt for sure. Another way is that you dont go too deep into a relationshp (not much expectation out of it).

sometimes it's hard you think that your not getting too deep but then sometimes you just can't hold yourself back right now im trying not to fall too deep. but im really starting to fall for him and i don't like being single because you feel lonely. i mean i like the feeling where there is someone that is there to care about you. some people are so lucky that they found the right one early so they don't have to feel that much pain. but yeah i guess pain is not a bad thing cuz without pain you won't have love.

I agree with Wind, if you dont want to get hurt, the best way is not to also get loved, HA HA HA
so not the way to go

if there isn't the chance of getting hurt, than there is nothing to risk, and love with no risk is boring, not exciting, , which in turns isn't much happiness

besides if you go through a breakup and dont feel any unhappy feelings at all, shows that you never cared to begin with, and do you ever want a relationship like that?

I don't really think you can prevent yourself from getting hurt.
It's just a way of life, isn't it?
You get hurt and you get over it, and you eventually find somebody better.
And if there's no pain, then there's no gain.

I dumped a guy who cheated on me after 5 years of dating and I STILL hurt after 2 years. I don't think you can't prevent being hurt unless you plan to never love someone again. I don't think there is a straight forward answer to this question. Good luck in your quest for the answer...... when you find it let me know .

basically when getting into a serious relationship, u are taking a risk. u risk getting hurt but if it works out then u will be rewarded. if u don't want to get hurt, then the only way is not to commit. but then u prob won't get rewarded with the feeling that u can get in a relationship.

do you see her al the time?
cause if not, there is apoint of obsession that should come into question

Not getting hurt is almost like not falling love. Like falling love u can't know when it come so let it go and live on :).

It will be painful for a while. but always know that you WILL get over it. When you are in the situation you will think as if it may last forever but the truth is, you will eventually get over it. Change something, your bedroom arrangement or a hairstyle, and you will feel a little better

Rejection hurts, It doesn't matter how you look at it. But, rejection is better than regret. Learn from it and move on. Don't let this get the best of you. This is just a step part of your journey through life. You will have many many many more relationships in the future.
