AKB48’s documentary “To Be Continued” to have special U.S. premiere!

    arlier this year, AKB48 fans in Japan got to watch a special documentary about their idols in theatres across the nation. Now, fans in the U.S. and Canada will get the same opportunity, thanks to NEW PEOPLE Entertainment, who recently licensed the film for those two countries.

    Titled “DOCUMENTARY of AKB48 – To Be Continued“, the film follows the unstoppable all-female idol group, giving an insightful glimpse into the challenges the members had to face during their rise to international fame.

    The U.S. premiere of “The U.S. premiere of DOCUMENTARY of AKB48 – To Be Continued” will take place on Sunday, August 28th at 1:00PM local time at NEW PEOPLE’s cinema in San Francisco. It will be part of the 2011 J-Pop Summit Festival, and tickets are on sale now for $12.

    The annual J-Pop Summit is held in San Francisco’s Japantown. Japanese pop culture is celebrated with a plethora of film screenings, panel discussions, dance parties, fashion shows, and live performances from several Guest of Honor artists. It’s only fitting that a documentary about Japan’s most prolific idol group will be shown at this event.
