On May 10th, popular AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko attended the premiere event for her upcoming movie “Moshimo Koukou Yakyuu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no ‘Management’ wo Yondara“, in which she plays a starring role. “Moshidora“, as the movie is often called, is based on Tanaka Makoto’s 2009 novel of the same name. Using the book as a reference, she guides the baseball team to the Japan National High School Baseball Tournament. As of last month, the novel exceed over 2.5 million copies in sales. Maeda – who had previously worked with the author in the past – smiled as she commented, “I think this connection (between us) is a wonderful thing.” AKB48 member Minegishi Minami also has a role in the movie, but turned her attention straight to Maeda Atsuko. “When it comes to dramas she (puts on) the face of an actress. (Seeing) a different Acchan than usual really motivated me,” she said, looking back on her experience. When asked about his experience starring alongside the popular idols, actor Ooizumi You sent the audience into roaring laughter by replying, “When they came in, everyone said ‘Accha~n’ and ‘Minami-cha~n’, but when it’s just me they’re like ‘Ooizumi!’ What!? Just because I’m an adult… “. He went on to say, “We messed around like cousins. Especially Minami-chan. We’d pretend to be professional wrestlers and such.” Source: Oricon, Tokyohive
