Alan Tam (譚詠麟), Hacken Lee (李克勤), Emme Wong (黃伊汶), Daniel Chan (陳曉東), George Lam (林子祥) and Liza Wang (汪明荃) were among the guests taking part in the CASH 30th Anniversary and Golden Sail Awards Presentation Ceremony (2007 CASH 30週年晚宴暨金帆音樂獎頒獎典禮) yesterday evening.

Among the awards that were handed out, Alan received the greatest accolade in being presented with the award for the Greatest Musical Achievement. Sharing the moment with his family and good friends, Alan was extremely happy and excited. However, his son, Hiu Fung (譚曉風) was not present to share the occasion.

With the past recipients of this award being from the older generation, Alan joked that for him to receive this award and go on stage unaided is quite an achievement in itself. On a serious note, he said that he often feels quite emotional because many of his songs from the past are being sung by the younger artistes and people of today. In his speech, he said that for him this is only half a lifetime's achievement and he plans to be around and threatening the younger singers for a while yet. He also expressed his special thanks to his mother, who was present to watch him receive the award. Alan revealed that his mother had just celebrated her 86th birthday.

Asked why he had not brought his son along to the party, Alan said that his son was still too young to understand what it was about, but he would rub the award on his son's face later for good luck. Among Alan's friends who were there to celebrate with him were Eric Tsang (曾志偉), Nat Chan (陳百祥) and members from his band Wynners (溫拿).

Hacken said of his friend and mentor that everything he had learned from Alan could be applied to both his music and in his life, from getting married to having children. He added that this achievement by Alan can be viewed as a common target by all his juniors in the industry.

Asked about his son Ryan's progress, Hacken said that the family had gathered together earlier to mark his one month celebration. He said that Ryan's progress is "so far so good" and he is now 9 lbs in weight.

Lee Heung Kam (李香琴) and Shirley Kwan (關淑怡) were awarded a Golden Sail award for the Best Alternative Production for their duet "Three Thousand Years Ago" <三千年前>. For veteran actress Kam, this was her first ever music awar and she was so happy that she was very emotional and tearful. During her interview, stole the limelight from Shirley with her emotional response, saying that it was like a dream and she has no more regrets in life. She said that winning this award for her speaking part in the song and joining TVB again after so many years away are like all the good things coming at once. She also added that the award will take pride of place in the centre of the shelf at home where she has kept all her awards.
