Giles Fielder-Civil, father of Amy Winehouse's husband Blake, believes fans might be able to get through to the troubled singer by boycotting her albums. According to the AP, in an interview on BBC radio Tuesday, Fielder-Civil explained, "I think [Blake and Amy] believe they are recreational users of drugs and they are in control...[they are in] abject denial...Clearly, they are addicts."

He added, "Perhaps it's time to stop buying records. It's a possibility, to send that message...that her addiction and her behavior are not acceptable."

Winehouse's father Mitch, however, disagreed, telling the BBC, "It's all clutching at straws. There's only one way out of this, and anybody with any drug experience will tell you...they are going to reach rock bottom...and at that point they will say, 'Listen, I don't want this anymore.'"

Winehouse has experienced worldwide success with her album Back to Black, however, in recent weeks, attention has been focused on her declining health. On Aug. 8, she collapsed and was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for exhaustion. Since then, she has cancelled the rest of her tour dates for the year, and was photographed with abrasions that she claimed were the result of a fight she had with Fielder-Civil when he caught and tried to stop her from doing drugs.

even though their lives are pretty fucked up according to the media, i don't think they should boycott her albums and her father says the only way out of this is when they hit rock bottom, but guess what....at that point his daughter would have a really short lifespan post "rock bottom"
