Okay, best documentary of the year. Hottest topic in town, or is that in the world? Just saw it today on DVD, I am quite positive that many found the film very boring and stupid and a million other sad adjective to describe a film.

However, I beg to differ. Though I agree that the film did use some very 8-grade-ish terms to explain global warming and its consequences, it is a necessary mean to achieve its goal -- to educate the public the importance of the issue. The narration may be found boring, as it is a recorded lecture given by Al Gore interlaced with a few anecdotal sequences -- but it put a remarkably human touch to the issue.

Many may beg to differ that the film is a success, that the film is a propaganda -- but it is successful in promoting the knowledge to the mass, in its 8-grade terms, and that, sometimes, hard sell is necessary to achieve the means. It may be an inconvenient truth, but it won't go away if we deny it, it will only grow.

Too bad (or good?) that the piracy market didn't get to this title -- the purchase is worth every penny of it (part of which goes to funds that stops global warming) despite the utter lack of fancy packaging, but I guess that's the point of the film, to avoid massively-packaged item. ;)

If the world is warming up its just because the planet is getting closer to the rapture and god is getting ready to punish us for our sins by unleashing the fires of hell. Thus erasing all evidence of life's 2000 years of existence.

.... or you know... i guess its possible that it could be from CO2 emissions... not as interesting a hypothesis though.

I guess I do secretly hope that if an end of days do come, it is predestined as many religions claim it to be -- knowing for a fact that my person, and/or my anecestors, contributed to our demise doesn't go down well.
    So stop those SUVs already!

I dont normally watch documentaries but my friend dragged me along to the cinema to watch this, and it was definetly not what I expected. It was actually a really good documentary and I learnt a lot from it, and there were some really funny moments too - totally recommend people to go watch it if they havent done so already, although I wouldnt watch it more than twice

Though it's too dumped down for a college student who happens to major in Biology or Life Sciences in general =_=b

And of course, it's informative but not dramatic like Michael Moore.

It was a great show. I didn't really knew how much global warming can do so much to our planet Earth. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
