Andy Lau, Louis Koo, Daniel Wu & Anita Yuen in Movie "Protege"

CAST: Louis Koo Tin Lok, Anita Yuen Wing Yee, Andy Lau Tak Wah, Daniel Wu Yiu Cho, Ho Mei Tin

A joint collaboration by Peter Chan Ho Sun and Derek Yee, "Protege" ใ€Š้–€ๅพ’ใ€‹is a highly anticipated film slated for Lunar New Year release.

"Protege" took 3 years in production arrangements and centers on the narcotics market, revealing the shattering impact that drugs have on our everyday lives.

According to statistics, among the world's population of 6 billion people, there are 200 million people (1 out of 30 people) who take drugs. Derek Yee felt it was crucial to film the most realistic and shocking aspects of the narcotics market, to let people realize the dangerous side of drugs.

In the movie, Andy Lau and Daniel Wu play drug dealers, revealing the production and trafficking of drugs, as well as the lengths they will go to profit from drug trade.

Andy plays a drug lord this time. "'Protege' is a very special film. It resembles a novel as it has a very strong perspective upon which the material is presented. You will see a new side of the narcotics market, and see whether we should allow such [destructible] sustances to continue trading...."

Andy feels that if the portrayals are as gritty and realistic as possible, then "Protege" will leave audiences will a deeper impact.
