Friday October 6, 2006 Hong Kong Andy Lau on Hollywood Remake of 'Infernal Affairs': Too Much Swearing Today, the Hollywood remake of ‘Infernal Affairs’, ‘The Departed’, hit cinemas. On Wednesday night, Hong Kong version’s male lead, Andy Lau, attended the premier of the movie. The actor was evidently favouring the Hong Kong version as he expressed that he felt that ‘The Departed’ was too long and it felt as if Hollywood had combined all 3 movies of ‘Infernal Affairs’ together. He then jokingly said that the makers of ‘The Departed’ owns ‘Infernal Affairs’ makers because they payed for the copyright of only one movie. Andy rated ‘The Departed’ 8/10 and said that the Hollywood remake is worth a view. When questioned if he found the Hollywood remake disappointing, Andy replied, “No, I don’t. It was alright to watch and the actors were pretty good.” He then pointed out that the remake featured some of the golden quotes but did have much more swearing. When asked to rate the movie, Andy said, “I would rate both versions 8 out of 10. I thing I don’t like the most is how they made Kelly Chen and Sammi Cheng’s characters into one. I don’t think that the two male characters would like one female. But the remake is ok to watch.” credits: hkyahoo, asianfanatics.
omg so many grammar mistakes.. >.< damn I still haven't watched 3 yet!! hope its in the dl section... -lol
lol yea... same here.. guess i might have to go watch it today... I wonder how many people actually know that it's a remake of a Chinese movie...
i'm planning to watch it next weekend... CAN'T WAIT! but wth, the whole turning Kelly Chan and Sammi Cheng's characters into one is stupid.
It seems interesting, but I think making an original, which is in three parts, into one is kind of stupid.
dang...forgot it was coming outt...gonna go check it out. totally dont like to hear that kelly and sammi's character got put into one. bahhh!
should this be thread be noted with spoilers from 'the departed' ? well ..... remakes are (almost) never as good as the originals who cares
i heard it's very different from Infernal Affairs... how can they combine Sammi and Kelly's character?!?! >.<
make no sense to me how why they would combine the two characters together. nevertherless want to watch it and hope its as good as the original
i guess Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon are gonna fight for the girl in the movie too. stupidness. but i like how they have the whole breaking the cast thing. (the trailer showed it and i was like WHOA!!! AWESOME!)
Simply Americans, they just have gotta have it their own ways. Typical. But i will still watch it since i'm quite a big fan of IA
i thought the departed was pretty good, but after seeing IA i thought sum of the suspense was taken away
O Yea forgot to mention that they filmed downstairs of my house in Chinatown. That night was crazy. Sorry for the blurry pics.
