Andy Lau’s 48th birthday party with fans The Heavenly King was said to be in a bundle of nerves before the event began To celebrate Hong Kong Heavenly King Andy Lau’s coming 48th birthday on September 27, the birthday boy organized an early birthday celebration on Tuesday which was attended by 1,500 fans from all over Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Europe and America. The birthday party was held at Kowloon Bay’s Hong Kong International Trade and Exhibition center. Every member had to pay an entrance fee of S$80 to enter and the party had performances by both fans and Andy, who sang for half an hour long. As this event marked Andy’s first official fan-meeting since news of his marriage with Carol Choo was exposed, Andy was unsure about his fans’ response to his newly-wed status. The Heavenly King was in a bundle of nerves and arrived at the event two hours before the party started. At the party, Andy’s ardent fans expressed their support for their idol and shared that his marital status does not change their loyalty to him. A portion of fans even exclaimed their wishes for Andy to have a baby soon. Other guests present include Lam Ka-tong, Christine Au Yang, and Andy’s parents. But there was no sight of his wife, Carol.
