-_-2 -censored-censored-censored-censored-censored-censored Okay..so here's the story... I bought a laptop about two weeks ago from circuit city online. I got it shipped to me and it also came with a free printer, router, and security software. When i finally get my laptop in the mail, and i start it up, etc...it doesn't WORK! I never get to see a screen or anything because the computer never boots up. So...what could i do but call Acer? When i get around to calling them, they walk me through BIOS and since the HD is detected, they think it's a problem with Vista and they also tell me that they'll send me my recovery disc, etc for me to reinstall it. Now...when THAT finally comes in the mail and the tech walks me through it on the phone...an error pops up midway of installation and doesn't let me continue. So ACER tells me to send it in and they'll fix it for me. Only catch is that i pay S+H. I spoke to another rep about this and he agreed he could arrange it by FedEx for free...but I don't HAVE a fedEx near me, which = gas money. So, with today beiing the 13th day and with Circuit City having a 14 day defect/return & exchange policy, I call and bring in the laptop for exchange. The tech checks it out and finds....*drumroll* XP on it! I even saw the screen of XP...which is strange since I've never seen it. I BUY VISTA AND XP is on there...not to mention it doesn't load. So Circuit City tells me they can't take it back, exchange, fix, anything...because it has XP on there whenVista is suppose to be there. So i tell them I'll call the Acer tech and ask what they can do, etc. So i call, and "Our service hours are currently close." >.< Circuit City tells me there's nothing they can do from this point on. No return will EVER be possible and...I leave. -censored Tomorrow is my 14th day deadline but it doesn't even matter now. CONCLUSION? =I DON'T LIKE CIRCUIT CITY OR ACER...-censored-censored-censored-censored-censored
SMART!!!! y would u buy it from the source and wats more worst is y did u get ACER!!!! awwww u got scammmmedd.....well i hope things go well for u heyyyyy u konw a fag name jeffery ha?
So what's the problem? XP is installed when Vista should be? How the hell did that happen O_O and 14 days is extremely short......
store policy...14 days yeah...and the XP? beats me how it got on there and what if I DO KNOW A JEFFERY HA? oh..i bought it cause it was only like about $325..which is cheap..right?
Now I know not to buy my hardware from Source/Circuit City lol But the 14 days include exchange so why don't you just exchange it? Or they won't let you for some reason?
well i guess their accident advantage protection (replaces/fixes your product no matter what) is pretty cool..expensive though because there's XP on it...they're pretty much saying it's not their fault it doesn't work, it's cause "SOMEBODY" installed XP on it..(Not me of course)
when i first bought my laptop there was a problem with booting too, i took at back to COMPUSA in like 10 minutes, luckily i got another one, it was a bad harddrive problem though....well basically you got screwed here
why dont you just buy a laptop from a store?? btw, personally I find XP better than Vista, Vista is so dman annoying to work with..
well maybe you can still fix it yourself -shrug but yeh your first port of call should have been back to circuit as soon as you realised it wouldnt boot
uhm... i buy stuff from newegg a few times a year for computer upgrades and i have an Olevia LCDTV, working, since last november... no problems here...-tongue2
GO SMALL CLAIMS COURT, fuck em over. Send it to the sales you bought the computer from at circuit city. File it, and get the money. They wont fight it. In the end, there's probably a way to tell if the computer was new or old and keep all documents like receipt, etc, and the sale or ad. They probably won't take the time to fight you. Do it fast.
said something about me...I've only met him like twice... hmm maybe i should sell it to some sucker and screw them over...^^ interested? Oh nothing..school's in session *yawn* I would've, but it was out of stock >_< if only i had a chance to compare. such a hassle...blargh-pirate I wonder if there's a need for it to get so messy...>.<
damn nasty i have 2 year warranty. door to door. 1st time i called them to pick it up. too much hassle with the paperwork and boxwrapping. second time it was a month ago. i just brought it to the store. hasslefree. so nice... my laptop didnt started either. well. it work snow. btw its an ASUS. oh yeah 2 times in 2 years is ok. first time was my own fault. i dropped it.
i wonder if i should get that 2 year warranty then? it covers accidents as well.. a bit expensive though, i think it was about 200$ If they can't fix it..they replace it. Today's my last day to buy it also.
