Hacker group Anonymous has outed the creep who allegedly bullied Canada teen Amanda Todd — who killed herself on October 10. Anonymous says Kody Maxson, 30, a (potentially former) Facebook employee from New Westminster, British Columbia, is the one who made explicit photos of Amanda Todd public. This started a chain of events that led to Todd's depression, drug use, alcohol abuse and eventual suicide. Anonymous posted Maxson's name, age, username and location onto a pastebin page. Todd became national news when a video surfaced of her pouring out her troubles on a youtube video before her death. According to Todd's Youtube video, she came in contact with BlogTV user (allegedly Maxson) back in 2009 in an internet chat room. He convinced her to flash her breasts, she complied. Amanda was 12 years old at the time, Kody was 27. The user saved the pictures and a year later contacted Todd via Facebook. In the message he claimed that if she didn't send more pictures he would make the originals public. A short while later the police contacted Todd to let her know the pictures had been made public. Amanda suffered from anxiety, depression and panic disorders after this event. She was forced to move and got into drugs and alcohol. A year later her tormentor (allegedly Maxson) was back and made a Facebook page about Todd, he even made the picture of her breasts his profile picture. Todd started cutting herself and was forced to move schools again. Things got better for her at her new school until word got out about her past. After a failed suicide attempt she moved towns again. In her new town she continued to cut herself and was forced on to antidepressants. After another failed suicide attempt Todd uploaded the video as a last ditch plea for help. Sadly, Amanda's 3rd suicide attempt proved to be her last. She was pronounced dead on October 10th in her Vancouver home. Vice posted a link to an original mosaic by Anonymous that links Todd to Maxson and shows some of his personal information. The Facebook community has already began to respond to the allegations against Kody. Several pages have popped up calling for Maxson to be brought to justice or worse... Neighbors of Mr. Maxson have described Kody's house as "a known party house on the weekend with lots of young women coming and going." Sites are also starting to report that Todd's interaction with Maxson wasn't the only time she revealed herself. Todd allegedly had exposed herself multiple times online and was even blocked from BlogTV several times. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have thus far not commented on whether or not Anonymous has correctly identified Maxson as the internet bully. There have also been reports that Kody has turned himself in (whether it be to confess or to find sanctuary is still unclear). Motley News reported that a twitter account under the name of Anonymous New Jersey posted court documents citing that Kody turned himself in and is now facing charges of sexual assault and sexual interference of a person under 16. Amanda's death has opened up a nationwide dialogue on the evils of bullying in schools. British Columbia premier, Christ Clark, commented on the situation: On the reverse side of the story, thousands of Facebook users have begun to memorialize Amanda via various groups and pages. Source
^ it wasnt smart indeed but yea she was 12... He is a pedophile.... It's a good thing to put his name on the Internet. I hope he will pay for what he did to the child
I'm sorry, but internet bullying doesn't exist. Yes it's tragic, but it wasn't the result of bullying. Bullying is something you CAN'T avoid. Because of that, it becomes a real problem and escalates etc. The internet has a thing called "delete" or "block" or just use some common sense when someone asks you to flash. The whole thing can be avoided. Days before her suicide she was still on those same cam sites. Kids nowadays are just stupid. I'm not trying to be harsh, but where were the parents in this whole thing? Cancel the damn internet if it's causing problems and get her some professional help. I still think it's sad she died but there could've been way more done to prevent what happened. Now you may bash my reply.
